Systems and methods for providing merchant/customer interaction include determining that a tablet computer is in a merchant orientation, retrieving merchant product information according to a received instruction and merchant orientation information, and displaying a merchant screen on the tablet computer that includes the merchant product information according to the merchant orientation information. A change in the orientation of the tablet computer enclosure/stand is then detected from the merchant orientation to a customer orientation. In response, the merchant screen is transitioned on the tablet computer display to a customer screen as the tablet computer enclosure/stand changes orientations by moving the merchant screen and the customer screen linearly while in a stacked orientation. The customer screen includes the merchant product information displayed according to customer orientation information such that the merchant product information is displayed differently on the customer screen relative to the merchant screen.

Merchant/customer POS interaction system

A computing device, a system, and a method are provided to receive a number of inputs associated with one or more sensors of the computing device. One or more processors are configured to determine input data based on the number of inputs and authenticate a user account based on the input data. A communication interface is enabled to communicate with one or more devices based on the authentication. Further, the system may aggregate the input data based on the number of inputs. The system may determine identity data of the user account based on the aggregation. The system may transmit an indication of the identity data to the computing device.

Embodiments of systems and methods are provided for an authentication device that enables transactions with a payment instrument at different limitations, restrictions and/or use conditions. In an embodiment, a system comprises a receiver configured to receive, through an authentication device, authentication information associated with a user of the authentication device or with a payment instrument, wherein the payment instrument communicates with the authentication device, and the payment instrument has a first limitation that does not need pre-authorization. The system also comprises a payment instrument authorization module implemented by at least one hardware processor operatively connected to the receiver, the hardware processor(s) configured to: determine validity of the received authentication information; authorize a second limitation for the payment instrument based on the validity of the received authentication information; and communicate, to the authentication device or to a an entity device, authorization information for the payment instrument at the second limitation.

Authentication device that enables transactions with a payment instrument

A portable point-of-sale (POS) system includes a stand, an adjustable arm coupled to the stand, and a housing. The housing is coupled to the adjustable arm and includes a locking side panel having an integrated locking mechanism. The housing is configured to removably enclose a computing device used to facilitate an electronic transaction. The locking side panel is configured to enclose the computing device within the housing. The integrated locking mechanism and the locking side panel are configured to lock the computing device within the housing.

Point-of-sale systems

In transactions between a consumer and a merchant (or other third party) using services of a payment provider (e.g., credit card company, or financial services provider), methods and systems are provided for enabling any third party to accept chip and PIN payment and payment provider services using a payment provider device that is enabled using the third party's own application (referred to herein as 'app') and not the app of the payment provider. Enabling a merchant to accept chip and PIN payments usually requires the merchant to certify (accredit) their application (e.g., a point-of-sale (POS) system) end to end with the payment providers (e.g., Visa, MasterCard). A software development kit (SDK) modification to the application allows the merchant to accept chip and PIN cards the without the need to certify the application. The SDK includes the functionality that needs to be certified, and certifies it once with a service provider.

Systems and methods for securing pins during EMV chip and pin payments

A point-of-sale (POS) system is provided. The POS system may include an adjustable housing configured to receive a computing device. The POS system housing may be adjustable so that a screen of the computing device can be viewed by a merchant and a customer. The computing device may be removable from the housing for use as a mobile POS system. The POS system may also include electronics for accepting various forms of payment and for connecting the computing device to a network.
