An image sharing system, an image sharing device and a method for operating a plurality of image sharing devices are provided. Each image sharing device has a memory with image content files stored therein and a communication system to provide an image sharing system. The method comprises the steps of: identifying image sharing devices to be included in the image sharing system; establishing a communication link between the identified image sharing devices, said communication link providing the ability to transfer image content files; identifying sharable image content files in each of the image sharing devices; and determining manifest data useable in copying the sharable image content files from one of the image sharing devices to at least one other of the image sharing devices so that each of the shareable image content file is stored in at least two of the image sharing devices in the image sharing system.

A method for obtaining an x-ray image stores an association between a digital radiology receiver panel, a label that is applied to one or more surfaces of the digital radiology receiver panel, and an x-ray imaging room. A response to an operator instruction designates the digital radiology receiver panel having the stored association as an active digital radiology receiver panel in the x-ray imaging room. Instructions are transmitted wirelessly to the active digital radiology receiver panel. Image data is obtained from the active digital radiology receiver panel following exposure to x-ray radiation.

A digital radiography system for imaging a subject. A support structure, coupled to an X-ray source and an X-ray imaging detector, is rotatable about a first axis and is linearly moveable. The X-ray source and the X-ray imaging detector are also rotatable about second and third axes, respectively, to provide an operator with a number of degrees of freedom to move the X-ray source and the X-ray imaging detector to different positions relative to a subject. Further, the system has means for coupling an operator control interface and a display to the X-ray source for permitting an operator to rotate them about a fourth axis so that the operator control interface and display are accessible to the operator such that the position of the operator does not have to change when the positions of the X-ray source and the X-ray detector are changed.

Each memory card fullness icon includes an inner portion that can be adjusted to graphically display the relative amount of memory space that is available for storage in its corresponding removable memory card. The digital camera further includes circuitry for transferring the digitized image data into a selected removable memory card. The processor determines the relative amount of available memory space in the selected memory card and modifies the adjustable inner portion of the memory card fullness icon on the display to visually indicate in graphic format the present relative amount of available memory space in the selected memory card.
