Accurate measurement of breath-borne analyte(s) is disclosed, in which such a measurement can be compared to a background level of the analyte(s) in an ambient air sample. Methods, systems, and devices can include use of this background level for the purposes of detection and/or measurement of an analyte (e.g., THC) in breath samples of for law enforcement, health, and safety applications.

Various fluidic structures are described that may be implemented between two portions of material, at least one of which may be made of a flexible but inelastic material, such as Mylar. Such fluidic circuits may be configured such that applying a clamping pressure zone to such fluidic circuits and then moving the clamping pressure zone along the fluidic circuit and along a particular axis may cause the fluidic circuit to operate in a particular manner, thereby driving fluids contained within the fluidic circuit around the fluidic circuit according to a desired flow sequence.

Systems, devices, and methods for fluidic processing of biological or chemical samples using flexible fluidic circuits

Provided is a solid-state illumination system for use in a microscopy system utilizing a light sensor of a mobile phone camera module. The system includes a bright-field illumination source with an array of light-emitting diodes (LEDs). The array of LEDs is configured to produce transmission light within a range of view of the light sensor of the mobile phone camera module. The system also includes a dark-field illumination source including a ring of LEDs. The ring of LEDs is configured to produce light outside of the range of collection of the camera module lens. The system also includes a diffuser configured to diffuse the transmission light and a diffusive black material coupled to the diffuser. The diffusive black material is configured to pass through at least some of the transmission light while blocking reflections of the scattering light.

Solid-state illumination system for compact microscopy

An automated slide scanning system, comprising one or more optical elements, including an objective, having an optical path configured to be disposed within view of a camera of a portable device. An automated stage disposed within the optical path, the automated stage comprising a platform configured for receiving a slide containing a biological sample and having a drive mechanism for translating the stage in at least one direction with respect to said objective. A communications interface coupled to the automated stage, and is configured for receiving a command from the portable device to control operation of the mechanical stage.
