A cover system includes a first layer providing a top surface over a patient support structure. A layer of spacer material is provided beneath the first layer. An air mover moves air through the layer of spacer material to remove moisture adjacent a person supported by the patient support.

Cover system for a patient support surface

A patient support includes a first layer, a first air supply coupled to the first layer, a second layer, and a second air supply coupled to the second layer.

Patient support surface

A patient support including a frame, a mattress supported by the frame, and a set of siderails configured to block egress of a patient from the patient support. The siderails are configured to reduce gaps defined between the siderails and the other components of the patient support.

Apparatus and method for closing hospital bed gaps

A support surface is configured to support a patient thereon and has a base portion that includes an air cushion layer. The support surface also has a layer of three dimensional engineered material above the base portion. The layer of three dimensional engineered material is configured to permit air passage therethrough. The layer of three dimensional engineered material is made of a material other than foam. A cover is positioned between the layer of three dimensional engineered material and the patient to be supported. Air is forced through the layer of three dimensional engineered material.

A support surface is configured to support a patient thereon and has a base portion that includes an air cushion layer. The support surface also has a layer of three dimensional engineered material above the base portion. The layer of three dimensional engineered material is configured to permit air passage therethrough. A cover is positioned between the layer of three dimensional engineered material and the patient to be supported. Air is forced through the layer of three dimensional engineered material.

Patient support

A patient support is provided. The patient support includes a frame, a mattress supported by the frame, and a set of siderails configured to block egress of a patient from the patient support. The siderails are configured to reduce gaps defined between the siderails and the other components of the patient support.

An apparatus is configured to support at least a portion of a body thereon. The apparatus includes a base portion and a three dimensional engineered material, the three dimensional engineered material and the base cooperate to provide support for the body.

Mattress or cushion structure

A patient support is disclosed including a spacing structure and a base portion.

An apparatus is configured to support at least a portion of a body thereon. The apparatus includes a cover having an interior region, and a base located within the interior region. The base includes a top foam layer, a middle foam layer, and a bottom foam layer. The top layer is coupled to the middle layer and the middle layer is coupled to the bottom layer. Each of the foam layers includes a plurality of different foam sections.

A pilot operated check valve is configured to be positioned inside a fluid supply tube connected between an air supply manifold and an air zone located on a support surface of abed. The pilot operated check valve includes a body having an air inlet and an air outlet connected by an air passageway. The pilot operated check valve also includes a valve member configured to move between an open position and a closed position to block air flow through the passageway. Additionally, the pilot operated check valve includes a push rod having a first end coupled to the valve member to unseat the valve member when the valve member is in its open position and a second end. The pilot operated check valve includes a diaphragm located in a chamber of the body adjacent the second end of the push rod. The pilot operated check valve further includes an inlet port configured to be coupled to the manifold to admit pressure against the diaphragm. The body is formed to include a vent hole located on an opposite of the diaphragm from the inlet port. The vent hole is formed in communication with the chamber to permit air passing into the chamber from the air passageway to vent to atmosphere.

Air fluidized bed

A castor locking apparatus for a castor assembly rotatably mounted to the frame member of a fluidized bed by a support that includes a notched portion. The locking apparatus includes a housing coupled to the castor with the housing including an interior region with a top opening located adjacent to the notched portion of the frame and first and second notched portions spaced apart from the top opening. Each of the first and second notched portions of the housing are spaced from the opening a distance corresponding to each notched portion, with the second notched portion being closer to the housing opening than the first notched portion. A spring loaded locking pin is located within the housing and is biased upwardly by the spring such that the pin engages the notched portion of the frame to prevent rotation of the castor assembly relative to the frame. A stop is coupled to the pin, the stop and pin can be moved from a first position in which the stop is located within the first notched portion of the housing to compress the spring and the pin is removed from the notched portion of the frame to permit rotation of the castor assembly relative to the frame, and a second position in which the stop is located within the second notched portion of the housing to permit the spring to bias the pin upwardly to engage the notched portion of the frame and lock the castor relative to the frame member.

An apparatus is configured to support at least a portion of a body thereon. The apparatus includes a cover having an interior region, a base located within the interior region, and a three dimensional engineered material located within the interior region above the base. The three dimensional engineered material and the base cooperate to provide support for the body.
