In an embodiment, a system for balancing input current for power supplies a voltage detector configured to detect an input voltage to a power supply of a plurality of different power supplies. The system further includes one or more circuit elements configured to adjust one or more properties of the one or more circuit elements based at least in part on the detected input voltage in an attempt to maintain a consistent current input across the plurality of different power supplies.

A control logic firmware is received at a power supply unit. The firmware specifies a configuration selected to place a magnitude of an impedance of the power supply unit above a magnitude of an impedance of a network data center power system. The control logic firmware is executed using a power factor correction circuit of the power supply unit including by setting a voltage loop phase margin of the power factor correction circuit to maintain the magnitude of the impedance of the power supply unit above the magnitude of the impedance of the network data center power system.

Electrical system stability

The present disclosure provides a system, apparatus and method to transport data across a network node, as part of a network infrastructure of an optical transmission system. According to the various embodiments of the disclosure, a base architecture is provided which includes interconnectivity providing high throughput, while mitigating factors which may lead to signal loss or signal degradation. The base architecture is easily expandable to accommodate additional traffic.

Interconnection system and method

Embodiments of the present invention provide arrays of electrical circuits having one or more chirped elements or components for providing output signals to corresponding arrays of electro-optic devices. Certain embodiments of the present invention include a plurality of modulator driver circuits, each of the plurality of driver circuits configured to be substantially identical to each other and provide a corresponding one of a plurality of modulator drive signals to a respective one of a plurality of electro-optic modulators, each of the plurality of modulator driver circuits being chirped to provide a desired output to the corresponding electro-optic modulator for enhanced operation. Each of the plurality of modulator driver circuits comprises a plurality of electrical components, at least one of the electrical components being chirped such that a design or operating parameter of the electrical component differs from an electrical component having a similar function in at least one of the remaining modulator driver circuits of the plurality of driver circuit. In certain embodiments, each of the plurality of modulator driver circuits is provided on a common substrate.

A system for reducing the cost of network management by using a proxy agent and subchannel communications so fewer SNMP licenses and fewer protocol stacks are needed. Subchannel communication is achieved in a plurality of different embodiments. Embodiments having single subchannel transceivers, multiple transceivers, single multiplexer and multiple multiplexers are disclosed. An NMS process using routing table CRC to automatically detect when the NMS topology information is incorrect and automated topology discovery is disclosed. A process for automated discovery of redundant cables during automated topology discovery is disclosed.

Apparatus and method for unilateral topology discovery in network management

A modulator drive circuit provides a modulator drive signal to modulate an optical signal for transport across a network infrastructure. The modulator drive circuit powered by an adjustable voltage source, such that the modulator drive signal is generated from a data signal and the adjustable voltage source, an AC component of the modulator drive signal being derived from the data signal while a DC component of the modulator drive signal being derived from the adjustable voltage source. An array of such modulator drive circuits are provided on a single substrate.

Optical modulator drive circuit with integrated low power output bias voltage control

Chromatic dispersion is determined based on the arrival times of different frames of data in a wavelength division multiplexed (WDM) system having an optical communication link. Namely, a first frame is transmitted on a first optical channel, which is supplied to the optical communication link. A second frame is then transmitted on a second optical channel and the transmission time difference between the two frames is obtained. At a receive end, the difference in arrival times of the two frames is measured to obtain a relative time delay between the first and second frames and used to determine a chromatic dispersion.

A system for transmitting subchannel data over the same media as high speed data, especially DC balanced high speed data. A digital transmitter receives subchannel data and modulates it onto a subchannel carrier as the host signal in the preferred embodiment using frequency shift keying. The FSK subchannel carrier is added by superposition to the high speed data signal. Because of the ability to have very narrow bandwidths for the passbands of digital IF filters, the receiver is more sensitive and less susceptible to the need for tuning to accommodate manufacturing variations in the rise times of the high speed data signals.

At the receiver, a low pass filter filters out the subchannel carrier frequency components which are then amplified and subjected to a two-pole anti-aliasing filter to remove the third and fifth harmonics. Analog-to-digital conversion is followed by a digital mix down to remove the subchannel carrier component using a local oscillator at the subchannel carrier frequency. An FIR low pass filter having a triangular time domain response performs anti-aliasing and leaves as an output only frequency components at the positive and negative deviation frequency for Mark and Space. Mark and space detectors then determine the relative magnitude of the signal received at the positive and negative deviation frequencies in the complex phasor domain to determine when Mark and Space frequencies are being received. Because of the ability to have very narrow bandwidths for the passbands of the digital IF filters, the receiver is more sensitive and less susceptible to the need for tuning to accomodate manufacturing variations in the rise times of the high speed data signals.
