A storage bin for an appliance includes a single piece of molded plastic and a glass front panel. The single piece of molded plastic forms one or more of a bottom wall, a rear wall, and a pair of side walls. The glass front panel is insert-molded within the single piece of molded plastic to form a front wall. The front wall, the bottom wall, the rear wall, and the pair of side walls collectively define an interior storage volume. The bottom wall is imperforate. A method for constructing a storage bin is also provided.

A refrigerator appliance and air duct are provided herein. The refrigerator appliance may include a cabinet, an internal liner, and an air duct. The internal liner may be positioned within the cabinet and define a chilled chamber. The air duct may include a duct body and a plurality of resilient fingers. The duct body may extend between a first end to a second end. The duct body may define a fluid exchange path between the first end and the second end. The duct body may further define a first fluid opening at the first end in fluid communication with the fluid exchange path. The plurality of resilient fingers may be radially-spaced apart about the fluid opening. The plurality of resilient fingers may extend integrally from the duct body against the internal liner at the first end of the duct body.

Systems and methods for controlling refrigerator temperatures are provided. In one example embodiment a control system for adjusting the temperature of a refrigerator, wherein the refrigerator includes a fresh food compartment, a freezer compartment and a cooling system, the control system includes a printed circuit board, one or more thermistors, one or more processors and one or more memory devices, the one or more memory devices storing instructions that when executed by the one or more processors cause the one or more processors to perform operations, the operations can include monitoring one or more characteristics of the one or more thermistors, determining the temperature of the fresh food compartment based, at least in part, on the characteristics of a first thermistor, comparing the determined temperature of the fresh food compartment to a first predetermined threshold value, and determining, by the one or more processors, whether to operate the cooling system.

Systems and methods for refrigerator control

A multi-density skid assembly for an appliance or other object. The assembly includes an inner layer of at least one low density material and an outer layer of at least one high density material. At least one fastener extends into an inner opening defined in the inner layer and through an aperture defined by appliance. The fastener provides an anchoring force such that the fastener secures the skid assembly to the appliance yet allows for the skid assembly to be displaced from the appliance without the use of tools or necessarily laying the appliance on one side.

Mounting for a window in an oven appliance is provided so as to allow for thermal expansion during oven use. More particularly, an expansion zone is provided around the window such that, during heating of the window from oven operation, the window is allowed to expand without restraint that could cause cracking or shattering. Space can be allowed for both lateral and longitudinal expansion of the window.

An oven appliance is provided with an apparatus that supplies combustion air (i.e. primary air) to gas burner(s) of the oven appliance. The apparatus includes an air channel that provides for a flow of fresh, combustion air from the exterior of the oven appliance to a gas burner and, more particularly, to the shutter of a gas burner. The air channel can also be provided with a flame arrestor.

A camera is directed towards the dispenser recess, and a display is also provided for displaying an image from the camera. A method and apparatus are described for providing top heat to assist with baking in an oven appliance having a gas bake burner. The top heat is provided by a heating element positioned in the top of the oven cavity. This top heating element is operated in a manner that assists the bottom, gas bake burner with properly browning the food on both its top and bottom. The operation of the both the top heating element and the gas bake burner can be varied to provide proper cooking and browning based upon e.g., the type of food being cooked, the amount of food being cooked, and the level of browning desired.

A cooking appliance has a cabinet including a front portion, opposing side panels, a base portion, a back panel and a top surface. First and second oven cavities are disposed within the cabinet. Each of the first and second oven cavities include respective sidewall portions maintained in a spaced apart relationship from the opposing side panels. A first airflow passageway provides combustion air to the first oven cavity and cooling air within the cabinet and a second airflow passageway provides combustion air to the lower cavity. The second airflow passageway is separated from the first airflow passageway.

The griddle includes a main body having a first surface, a second surface opposite the first surface, and a recessed area formed on the second surface, the recessed area having a center, a periphery, and a thickness which diminishes from the periphery toward the center.
