A vehicle can have a user profile securely deployed in it according to a security protocol. The vehicle can include a body, a powertrain, vehicle electronics, and a computing system. The computing system of the vehicle can be configured to: retrieve information from a user profile according to a security protocol. The computing system of the vehicle can also be configured to receive a request for at least a part of the retrieved information from the vehicle electronics and send a portion of the retrieved information to the vehicle electronics according to the request. The computing system of the vehicle can also be configured to propagate information sent from the vehicle electronics back into the user profile according to the security protocol. And, the computing system of the vehicle can also be configured to store in its memory, according to the security protocol, information sent from the vehicle electronics.

The present disclosure includes apparatuses, methods, and systems for partitioning system data from user data in memory. In an example, a method can include receiving system data at a memory, assigning the system data a first address within a first range of memory addresses, storing the system data in a first portion of the memory operated with a first set of trim settings in response to the system data having the first address within the first range of memory addresses, receiving user data, assigning the user data a second address within a second range of memory addresses, and storing the user data in a second portion of the memory operated with a second set of trim settings in response to the user having the second address within the second range of addresses.

Partitioning system data from user data in memory

Embodiments are directed to system and methods for determining the user identity of a vehicle occupant and identifying a corresponding user profile to provide customer settings for the user. In some embodiments, the seat or position of the user is determined and settings are applied depending on the which seat is occupied by the user. In some embodiments, vehicle settings are updated as additional vehicle occupants enter the vehicle.

Systems, apparatuses, and methods related to isolating virtual machines in a memory device are described. A memory apparatus includes a memory device and a controller coupled to the memory device, wherein the controller is configured to provide a plurality of Peripheral Component Interconnect express (PCIe) functions of the memory device and isolate access to each of the plurality of PCIe functions via respective passwords and digital signatures created from host keys.

A vehicle or a mobile device within or near the vehicle can have multiple sensors to authenticate a passenger or driver of the vehicle in different ways, e.g., fingerprint, facial recognition, voice fingerprinting, iris scan, etc. Also, non-biometric factors can be used to authenticate the passenger or driver of the vehicle, e.g., MAC address, RFID, username and password, PIN, etc. In addition, a network attached security asset accessed by a vehicle can be included within the vehicle such as modem within the vehicle with authentication capabilities. Also, the authentication can be according to a zero trust framework or networking methodology. Some or all of such credentials and authentication factors or methods can fail individually, at least in part, in various conditions. An intelligent system, making use of intelligent multi-factor authentication, can combine such information to determine the identity of the passenger or driver with more reliability.

Disclosed are methods, devices, and computer-readable media for securing data in motion and at rest in a secure memory device. In one embodiment, a memory device is disclosed comprising a storage medium and a processor, the processor configured to: receive a software image, validate a digital signature associated with the software image, write the software image to the storage medium, receive a request to launch the software image from a host processor, validate the software image, and transmit the software image to the host processor.

Flexible security enclave for protecting data at rest and in motion

A driver recognition system of a vehicle identifies a person approaching the vehicle as a driver or other user. In one approach, the driver recognition system collects data using one or more cameras of the vehicle. The collected data corresponds to the person approaching the vehicle. Based on the collected data, a computing device determines (e.g., using a machine-learning model) whether the person is a user (e.g., driver) associated with the vehicle. If the person is a user associated with the vehicle, then the computing device causes one or more actions to be performed for the vehicle (e.g., controller configuration, boot up of a computing device, updating software using over-the-air update, etc.).
