A fuel delivery unit of a motor vehicle comprises a prefilter arranged inside a swirl pot, said prefilter having a filter element, and at least one connection piece for connecting a supplementary filter element. The at least one connection piece, in its initial condition, is closed, and is opened when the supplementary filter element is attached. The invention allows the fuel delivery unit to be adapted to projected filter surfaces of the prefilter.

A device for collecting fuel in a fuel tank of a motor vehicle having a prefilter arranged inside a swirl pot. The prefilter has a section rising from a horizontal plane and a section lying in the horizontal plane. The sections of the prefilter are produced as one piece and are connected to the swirl pot. The prefilter has an especially large surface.

A fuel delivery unit for a motor vehicle, wherein a swirl pot has a base formed from an upper part and a lower part, and an outer wall connected to the base, forming a seal. A feed unit for feeding fuel has a housing formed integrally with the casing of a swirl pot, the housing comprising a fine filter. The fine filter is configured open toward one side and is closed by a cover. The cover is formed integrally with a base plate sealing the casing of the swirl pot. As a result, the feed unit has a particularly low number of components to be assembled and can be produced in a particularly cost-effective way.

Feed unit

In a feed unit for feeding fuel from a fuel container of a motor vehicle a surge part () has a base plate () and an adjoining tubular section (). The base plate () is fabricated in one piece with a nozzle () and a mixer pipe () of a suction jet pump () and has receptacles () for a fine filter () and for supporting rods () of a fuel pump (). The feed unit is of particularly simple design as a result of this and can be fabricated in a cost-effective way.

A fuel supply system for a motor vehicle has two feed units arranged in a fuel tank. The feed units in each case feed fuel out of baffles to an internal combustion engine of the motor vehicle and to suction jet pumps. This ensures a reliable supply of fuel to the internal combustion engine, even in the case of a very high fuel requirement and in the case of an angled design of the fuel tank.
