A filter module for filtering fuel in an engine system includes a primary filter, a secondary filter, and a module housing. A drain valve is movable between a closed position blocking a drain port in the module housing, and an open position. A service valve assembly is positioned at least partially within a cross passage in the module housing and adjustable from a closed configuration blocking a primary-side fuel passage from a secondary-side fuel passage in the module housing, to an open configuration, to drain fluids from the filter module by way of the single drain port.

A fuel filter monitoring method includes receiving pressure signals that are indicative of a pressure drop across at least one fuel filter of a fuel supply system configured to supply fuel to at least one fuel injector of an internal combustion engine and receiving a condition signal indicative of a condition of a fuel supply system, the condition signal being generated by one or more of a geographic location sensor, an altitude sensor, and/or a fuel temperature sensor. The method includes estimating a remaining life of at least one fuel filter of the fuel supply system based on the pressure signal and the condition signal and outputting a notification indicative of the estimated remaining life.

A fuel module for pumping and filtration of a fuel in a fuel system includes a flow housing, and each of an electrically powered pump, a first cartridge filter, and a second cartridge filter in sealed, direct engagement with the flow housing. The method also includes receiving work cycle data from machines that implement a same or similar fuel system. The method further includes receiving, via sensors of the fuel system, fuel system data and determining, from the fuel system data, a pressure difference across the fuel filter. The method further includes determining, based on the work cycle data, predicted load cycle data for the fuel system and determining, via a filter life model, a filter service interval representing an amount of time the fuel filter is operable in the fuel system prior to the pressure difference reaching a predetermined value.

A filter identification system is disclosed. The filter identification system may include an identification component disposed in a filter mount configured to hold a set of filters that includes a first filter and a second filter. The identification component may include a sensor system that may include a first sensor configured to provide a first output signal corresponding to a state of the first sensor, and a second sensor configured to provide a second output signal corresponding to a state of the second sensor. The sensor system may be configured to provide a single output signal that is based on the first output signal and the second output signal and indicates a combined state of the first sensor and the second sensor.

Filter identification

A component identification system is disclosed. The component identification system may include a sensor system that includes a first Hall-effect switch configured to provide a first output signal corresponding to a state of the first Hall-effect switch, and a second Hall-effect switch configured to provide a second output signal corresponding to a state of the second Hall-effect switch. The sensor system may be configured to provide a single output signal that is based on the first output signal and the second output signal and indicates a combined state of the first Hall-effect switch and the second Hall-effect switch. The component identification system may include a component that is to be identified. The component may include a first magnet configured to affect the state of the first Hall-effect switch and a second magnet configured to affect the state of the second Hall-effect switch.
