A CPE device may include a plurality of CPE modules implemented in hardware. The plurality of CPE modules may include a first module and a second module. The first module and the second module may be arrangeable in a stacked configuration. The first module may include a first interconnection interface component disposed on a top surface of the first module. The second module may include a second interconnection interface component disposed on a bottom surface of the second module. The second interconnection interface component may be configured to complementarily couple to the first interconnection interface component when the first module and the second module are arranged in the stacked configuration.

In one embodiment, a method is disclosed comprising receiving, by a network device, a router solicitation (RS) message from a network node, generating, by the network device, a router advertisement (RA) message for use in determining the network node's network address, the RA message including a network address prefix and subnetting information, the subnetting information comprising a subnet address, a subnet address length and a subnet option type, and transmitting, by the network device, the RA message to the network node.

A system may include a management platform. The system may include a master system hosted by a first subscriber device that is communicatively coupled to the management platform over an external network. The system may include an agent system hosted by a second subscriber device that is communicatively coupled to the first subscriber device, and to an end-user device, over a WLAN. The agent system may be configured to cause the second subscriber device to output information regarding the end-user device. The management platform may be configured to cause one or more processors, of the management platform, to identify, based on the information, an insufficiency in network resource capacity, associated with the WLAN, for the end-user device, and provide one or more commands to the master system to cause the master system to perform an action to address the insufficiency.

Systems and methods for hybrid management of an in-premises network

A CPE device may include a communication component that is configured to communicatively couple to a network provided by a network service provider. The network may include a management platform for facilitating deployment of updates, or facilitating provisioning of services and deployment of service applications corresponding to the services. The CPE device may host a containerized system that includes an operating system, and a plurality of containers configured to share resources of the operating system. Each container, of the plurality of containers, may be configured to contain a respective service application. The operating system may be configured to communicate with the management platform to coordinate receiving of particular updates for the containerized system or the CPE device, or to coordinate provisioning of particular services, and deployment of particular service applications corresponding to the particular services, to the CPE device.

A network device receives, from a user device, a data packet on a first wireless channel between the user device and the network device. The network device processes the data packet based on receiving the data packet, and transmits the processed data packet to a second network device on a second wireless channel between the network device and the second network device. The network device, the second network device, and the user device are included in a local network. The first network device and the second network device are communicatively connected via a wireless full-duplex link that includes the second wireless channel and a third wireless channel. The first wireless channel, the second wireless channel, and the third wireless channel are different wireless channels.

Systems and methods for wireless backhaul in a local network

A computer device may include a memory configured to store instructions and a processor configured to execute the instructions to determine a service requirement for a client device connected to a WiFi access point in a customer premises network that includes a plurality of WiFi access points. The processor may be further configured to monitor a service requirement parameter, associated with the determined service requirement, for the client device; detect that the service requirement parameter is within a threshold of the determined service requirement; and perform a self-organizing network (SON) action on the customer premises network, in response to detecting that the service requirement parameter is within the threshold of the determined service requirement.

An exemplary data router may receive from a client device a request to access a multicast packet stream corresponding to a media content channel. The data router may access the multicast packet stream, which may include a plurality of bit rate profiles each including a plurality of data packets representing a component of the media content channel transferred at a particular bit rate. The data router may filter out data packets included within bit rate profiles that have data transferred at a bit rate that is not a preferred or requested bit rate by the client device. The data router may also replace a multicast destination address with a device destination address in the data packets that are not filtered out. The data router may then route the modified multicast packet stream to the client device at the device destination address. Corresponding systems and methods are also described.

Methods and systems for efficient routing of multicast media content by data routers at end user premises

A streaming device may broadcast multimedia content, such as television signals, to electronic devices in a customer premises. The device may include a tuner to receive a signal, corresponding to a number of television channels, and to extract a second signal corresponding to a selected channel. The device may include a media processor to transcode the extracted signal to a second encoded format. The device may further authenticate a destination device as a destination device that is authorized to receive at least some of the television channels, and receive, from the destination device, channel selection information that identifies the selected channel. The device may further include a communication interface to transmit the signal, in the second encoded format, to the destination device.

Content delivery for viewing devices within a customer premises

A device detects DNS timeouts indicative of a connectivity problem, determines, after detection of the DNS timeouts, whether a reboot timer has expired prior to troubleshooting the connectivity problem, and reboots the device and collect error logs when the reboot timer has expired. The device determines whether the rebooting of the device has corrected the connectivity problem, and provides a request to perform a reset of the device when the rebooting of the device fails to correct the connectivity problem. The device receives, based on the request, an instruction to perform the reset of the device, resets the device based on the instruction, and determines whether the resetting of the device has corrected the connectivity problem. The device sends the error logs to the log server when either the rebooting of the resetting of the device corrects the connectivity problem.

Self troubleshooting home router

A system and method for are provided for common distribution and rendering of communications capability for emergency alert services. A zone headend device, for a local zone, receives a local emergency alert service (EAS) message that is intended for a particular geographic locality. The zone headend device processes the local EAS message for delivery over a television conditional access system and sends the local EAS message to a regional headend device for a region of multiple zones including the local zone. The regional headend device receives the local EAS message and another local EAS message from another zone headend device. The regional headend device processes the local EAS message and the other local EAS message for in-band delivery with regional programming for broadcast quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) and over-the-top streaming.

Common distribution and rendering for emergency alert services

A router is configured to receive a message from a server device, store information about the server device based on the message, and receive a request from a client device. The request includes an address associated with the server device. The local router is further configured to map the address to the information and transmitting a response to the client device. The response indicates the mapping of the address to the information. The local router, the server device, and the client device are within a single local area network (LAN). The information allows the client device to detect a presence of the server device without the request being transmitted external to the LAN.

A set-top box (STB) detects activation of the STB, and performs, in response to the activation of the STB, a health check of the STB. The STB also detects connection of the STB with a network, and performs, in response to the connection of the STB, the following: a pre-provisioning of the STB, a provisioning of the STB, and a service check of the STB.

Automatic provisioning of set-top boxes

A set-top box includes a baseline record with information regarding the expected environment of the set-top box. The baseline record may be encrypted, and may include locational information. The set-top box compares the expected environment to an actual environment of the set-top box and attempts auto-reconciliation if the comparison indicates a discrepancy. In some implementations, auto-reconciliation includes performing a check of the components of the set-top box to identify improper performance. In some implementations, auto-reconciliation includes the enabling of missing entitlements or the disabling of extra entitlements. A computing device of a media content provider includes a golden source record with information establishing the expected environment for the set-top box. The media content provider may send updates for the baseline record when information in the golden source record changes. In some implementations, during auto-reconciliation a comparison is made between the golden source record and the baseline record.
