A filter element including a first endplate, a second endplate, filter media fitted between the first endplate and the second endplate, the first endplate including an opening that allows a working fluid to flow into or out of the filter media, the filter media allowing the working fluid to be filtered through the filter media and a seal member having an oval profile disposed on the first endplate and configured to seal with a filter housing, the seal member including an inner perimeter and an outer perimeter including a plurality of outwardly curved surfaces.

A filter media in which larger corrugations are impressed or embossed onto media that has been previously corrugated with standard corrugations. This construction greatly increases the beam strength of a resulting pleat that allows the channels to remain open during processing into the pleated media, and prevents buckling of the media duping gathering on current pleating equipment. In addition, once the media is pleated, the larger corrugations or embossments, combined with the standard corrugations, create large channels for fluid flow from pleat tip to the base of the pleat.

A filter assembly including a filter media sized for positioning within an air induction system, the filter media possessing a first side and a second side substantially opposite the first side. The filter assembly includes a layer of sound absorbing foam positioned adjacent one of the first side of the filter media and the second side of the filter media, the sound absorbing foam including a plurality of perforations therein, the plurality of perforations permitting air to flow through the filter media and the layer of sound absorbing foam.

A process, system, and component configuration are described that discourages customer acceptance/use of will-fit, reconditioned, and counterfeit product components, by determining whether or not a serviceable product component is genuine. If a component is determined to not be genuine, then appropriate action may be taken to warn operators and document such findings. For example, one or more markers are disposed or otherwise put on the subject serviceable product component and serves as a targeted feature, and/or a particular characteristic of the filter itself is identified as the targeted feature. A sensor is used to detect the targeted feature and obtain information unique to the serviceable product component. The targeted feature(s) identifies the particular serviceable component as genuine and forms the basis for determining whether a genuine component has been installed. In some circumstances, a fluid filter product is the component that is the subject detection.

Apparatus, system and method for detecting the presence of genuine serviceable product components

An integrated air flow component is provided for an internal combustion engine air induction system having an air inlet duct. The integrated air flow component includes an air flow separator in the duct including air flow guidance surfaces downstream of the air cleaner. An engine air duct is also provided.

Such characteristics could include an operating condition of the filter, the remaining useful life of the filter, the relative contaminant concentration in the fluid, and/or the remaining useful life of a working component supplied with the filtered fluid.

An acoustic resonator (20) has a resonator cavity (22) with a resonator port (24) for communicating with an exhaust flow passage (26) conducting acoustic waves therethrough. Adjustable port structure varies acoustic impedance of the port by various combinations including translation to vary area along an arcuate surface, translation between discrete areas, translation to cumulatively open port area, multiple translation, multiple ports, rotational area change, and rotational length change. Adaptive control may be provided. A combined passive and active acoustic system may also be provided.

Tunable acoustic system

An integral active and passive silencer particularly useful for industrial applications. The integral unit is easy to install, disassemble and service. It provides a housing that can be separated into portions, with each portion containing an active or passive silencer. The invention also provides an active silencer having a ported tube that is in acoustic communication with one or more loudspeakers through a tuning chamber. The ported tube can be removable.
