A pipe connection ring can include a plurality of segments and a plurality of deformable links. Each of the plurality of links can connect adjacent segments of the plurality of segments, the segments and links alternating about a circumference of the pipe connection ring, each pair of the adjacent segments and a corresponding link of the plurality of links connecting the adjacent segments and together with the adjacent segments defining a relief between the adjacent segments, each of the plurality of links configured to allow movement of the adjacent segments upon deformation of the link connecting the adjacent segments. The pipe connection ring can define a first axial end surface, a second axial end surface distal from the first axial end surface, an inner surface, and an outer surface distal from the inner surface.

A lockable pipe shield includes a substantially curved shield body defining a first upper shield edge and a second upper shield edge opposite the first upper shield edge; a first lock tab formed monolithically with the shield body at the first upper shield edge and bent relative to the shield body to extend in a first direction, a first hanger engagement channel defined between the first lock tab and shield body; and a second lock tab formed monolithically with the shield body at the second upper shield edge and bent relative to the shield body to extend in a second direction substantially opposite the first direction, a second hanger engagement channel defined between the second lock tab and the shield body.

Disclosed is a lockable pipe shield for a pipe support assembly, a pipe support assembly, and a method of securing a lockable pipe shield to a pipe hanger. Example aspects of the lockable pipe shield for a pipe support assembly can comprise a substantially semi-cylindrical shield body defining a first shield end, a second shield end opposite the first shield end, and an upper shield edge; and a lock tab coupled to the shield body at the upper shield edge, the lock tab bendable relative to the shield body between a first position and a second position, wherein, in the first position, the lockable pipe shield is in an unlocked configuration, and in the second position, the lockable pipe shield is in a locked configuration.

A pipe coupling includes a coupling segment having an inner surface defining a ring groove proximate to an axial end of the coupling segment, the ring groove comprising a groove bottom surface extending from a first end of the coupling segment to a second end of the coupling segment; and a pipe connection ring disposed within the ring groove, the pipe connection ring defining a body with two ring ends and an outer surface, the outer surface of the pipe connection ring contacting the groove bottom surface at a midpoint between the first end of the coupling segment and the second end of the coupling segment when the pipe connection ring is in an uncompressed condition. The pipe connection ring may be a split ring defining an opening between the two ring ends, which may be square, tapered, angled, or stepped.

A pipe coupling includes first and second coupling segments, an inner surface of each of the first and second coupling segments defining first and second ring grooves, the inner surface of each of the first and second coupling segments including transition portions on either side of the respective ring grooves, each of the first and second ring grooves defining a groove bottom surface positioned radially outward from each of the respective transition portions; a first pipe connection ring disposed within the first ring groove and a second pipe connection ring disposed within the second ring groove, each of the respective pipe connection rings including: an outer flange aligned with an axial direction of the respective pipe connection ring and received within the respective ring groove; and an inner flange connected to the outer flange and angled with respect to the outer flange.

A pipe system includes a first pipe element, a second pipe element, and a pipe coupling. The pipe coupling connects an end of the second pipe element to an end of the first pipe element, the pipe coupling including a coupling segment having an inner surface defining a ring groove proximate to a first axial end of the pipe coupling, and a pipe connection ring positioned in the ring groove and engaged with the first pipe element, the pipe connection ring being a closed ring.
