A fuel system cover is provided for an internal combustion engine. The fuel system cover is configured to be mounted on the cylinder head assembly to encapsulate a portion of the fuel system to provide leak prevention, mitigation, and detection capabilities.

A system for cooling a cylinder head includes a cylinder head, a cylinder block, and a waste heat recovery system. The cylinder head includes a first water jacket and a second water jacket. The cylinder block is coupled to the cylinder head. The cylinder block includes a third water jacket. The first water jacket is coupled to a first cooling circuit. The second water jacket is coupled to a second cooling circuit. The third water jacket is coupled to a third cooling circuit. The waste heat recovery system is coupled to at least one of the first cooling circuit, the second cooling circuit, and the third cooling circuit.

A device is disclosed for measuring Barkhausen noise of a crankshaft to identify defects in the crankshaft while the crankshaft is installed on an engine, comprising: a housing configured to attach to a connecting rod; at least one sensor assembly mounted to the housing including at least one Barkhausen noise sensor; and a spring disposed between the housing and the at least one Barkhausen noise sensor to urge the at least one Barkhausen noise sensor into contact with a pin journal of the crankshaft as the crankshaft rotates.

System and method for on-engine component defect detection

An interface between an engine block and a cylinder head is provided. The interface includes a ferrule that accommodates relative movement between the cylinder head and the engine block while maintaining sealing of fluid passages that extend between the cylinder head and the engine block. The interface thus forms a fluid passage seal assembly.
