A peelable surface coating system comprises a multilayer peelable surface coating adhered to multi-section substrate with joints between sections. The multilayer peelable surface coating has strength and flexibility layers and a wear layer. Each strength and flexibility layer has a thickness of &#x3c;0.6 mil and a Konig hardness of &#x3c;40 seconds. The wear layer has a Konig value of &#x3e;60 seconds and a thickness of from 0.2 to 3 mils. The strength and flexibility layers have a combined total thickness of 3.3 to 6 mils. The peelable coating system spans joints between sections and is peelable from both the substrate and the joints, and has an elongation (E %) of &#x3e;350%, a break force maximum load (BF gm-Force) of &#x3e;3000 gm-Force, a total thickness (T mils) of from 3.5 to 10 mils, and wherein: (E %)&#xd7;(BF gm-Force)&#xd7;(T mils)&#x3e;4&#xd7;10.

Peelable surface coating system over multi-section substrate

Wax-based lubricant coatings for conveyors, and in particular for container transporting conveyors, are provided. The lubricant coatings provide conveyor surfaces having low coefficients of friction. In one embodiment, the lubricant coatings are composed of a mixture of carnauba wax and at least one additional wax. Conveyors having the lubricant coatings applied thereto are also provided.

Wax-based lubricants for conveyors

This invention relates to polymer blends comprising a polycarboxypolyamide resin with an alkali dispersible resin. This invention also relates to the use of the polymer blends to prepare aqueous dispersions. The aqueous dispersions were obtained by heating polycarboxypolyamide resins with alkali dispersible resins in an aqueous medium. The invention further relates to coating compositions containing the aqueous dispersions. Such coating compositions include inks, floor finishes, overprint varnishes, sizing, paints and adhesives.

Preparation and use of dispersions of blended polycarboxypolyamide resins and alkali dispersible resins and compositions thereof

The invention relates to methods of preparing aqueous polymeric dispersions which contain a water-dispersible polyurethane, a polymer prepared from an ethylenically unsaturated monomer and at least one additional polymer which is capable of enhancing certain properties of products which utilize the aqueous dispersions of the present invention, wherein the ethylenically unsaturated monomer is polymerized in the presence of the water-dispersible polyurethane dispersion and the additional polymer and in the absence of a surfactant and an organic solvent, to aqueous compositions containing the aqueous polymeric dispersions and to articles of manufacture prepared from the aqueous compositions containing the aqueous polymeric dispersions.

Modified aqueous polyurethane dispersions and methods for making same

Vinyl C.sub.1 to C.sub.3 alkanoate/C.sub.2 to C.sub.4 alkylene copolymer emulsions e.g. vinyl acetate/ethylene, are usable as wet adhesives and pressure sensitive adhesives for a number of applications. Their bonding to the surfaces of lower polarity, e.g. polyethylene, is improved by including vinyl esters of C.sub.4 to C.sub.18 primary carboxylic acids as a monomer.

Emulsion polymerization

Various novel acetal- and aldehyde-containing monomers are prepared. They can be polymerized and copolymerized by conventional polymerization techniques. The polymers contain repeating units derived from one or more ethylenically or allylically unsaturated monomers containing an acetal group or aldehyde group and optionally one or more repeating units derived from ethylenically or allylically unsaturated monomers other than the acetal-containing or aldehyde-containing monomer such as ethylene, vinyl acetate, ethyl acrylate, butyl acrylate, 2-ethylhexyl acrylate, hydroxyethyl acrylate, hydroxypropyl acrylate, methyl methacrylate or acrylic acid. Aqueous emulsions of polymers containing the acetal-containing monomers and a hydroxy-containing monomer are useful as binders for nonwoven fabrics.

Monomers and polymers containing acetal and aldehyde groups

The present invention is directed to a process for treating textile substrates with a vinyl ester based emulsion polymer containing interpolymerized therein 0.5 to 5% of a polyethylenically unsaturated cross-linking comonomer and subsequently contacting the emulsion coated substrate with a heated metal surface.
