A coaxial connector including an outer conductor, a glass to metal seal (GMS) assembly, and a center conductor, is disclosed. The outer conductor has a tubular shape and defines longitudinal axis. Here, the center conductor and the GMS assembly are coupled before they are placed within the outer conductor. When the GMS assembly is coaxially placed within the outer conductor, the GMS assembly and the outer conductor define a variable gap enclosure. Fusing agent such as solder is placed within the variable gap enclosure. A bead is inserted into the outer conductor surrounding the center conductor and engaging the center conductor at a circumferential slot. The slide-on dielectric bead provides support for the center conductor and maintains the center conductor's position within the outer conductor and its characteristic impedance throughout.

Microwave connector

An interface to a microcircuit formed on a substrate supporting a ground plane. The substrate supports a dielectric structure having gold coated sloped sidewalls electrically connected to the ground plane. A transmission line, connected to the microcircuit, is supported by the dielectric structure. A coaxial cable is connected to the transmission line. The coaxial cable having an end stripped at an angle substantially the same as the sloped side walls of the dielectric structure, wherein the exposed length of the center conductor is bonded to the transmission line, and the outer conductor of the coax cable is bonded to the gold plating on the dielectric structure such that the angled portion of the coax cable mates with the bevel of the thick film dielectric.

Apparatus and method to introduce signals into a shielded RF circuit

A movable support for a coaxial structure, such as a coaxial feed-through, connector, or cable, allows adjusting the height of a center pin of the coaxial structure relative to the surface of a high-frequency planar microcircuit mounted on a base. The height of the center pin is optimized to provide a high-frequency transition between the coaxial transmission structure and a planar transmission structure, such as a stripline structure, on the planar microcircuit. An interference fit between the movable support and base at the operating height provides a high-quality ground contact underneath the center pin.

Adjustable coaxial support

Asymmetric support for high frequency transmission lines. An asymmetrical support structure coaxially supports a center conductor over a ground plane using a dielectric material. Absorbing material between the dielectric and the outer conductor reduces the effects of high order modes.

Asymmetric support for high frequency transmission lines

A connector assembly includes a first connector half, and a second. The first connector half includes a first transmission line, having a first outer conductor and a first center conductor. The first center conductor has a first end that has an angled flat region. The second connector half, includes a second transmission line. The second transmission line includes a second outer conductor and a second center conductor. The second center conductor has a first end that has an angled flat region. When the first connector half and the second connector half are connected together, the first outer conductor is electrically connected to the second outer conductor. Additionally, a wiping contact is established between the angled flat region of the first end of the first center conductor and the angled flat region of the first end of the second center conductor.

Broadband coaxial microwave connector

A coaxial connector mounts directly to a planar substrate of a circuit module and is oriented perpendicularly to the substrate. A radially symmetric coaxial structure, maintained through a conductive bore in the substrate provides a good impedance match to a planar transmission line on the substrate. A flange of the coaxial connector provides the mating surface to the substrate. A nipple formed on the flange fits in the conductive bore, aligning the center conductor in the conductive bore and maintaining the coaxial structure. A bond connects the center conductor to a microstrip transmission line on the top of the substrate. In a first preferred embodiment of the present invention, a threaded flange receives a threaded coaxial bead to form the coaxial connector. In a second preferred embodiment a coaxial cable is soldered into a smooth flange to form a coaxial connector. In a third preferred embodiment a coaxial bead and a flange are integrated to form the coaxial connector. The outer conductor of the bead is continuous with the flange while the center conductor of the bead protrudes through a hole in the flange.

Coaxial connector for mounting on a circuit substrate

The present invention is a tetrahydrofurfuryl alcohol and limonene cleaning agent and method for formulating and/or using the cleaning agent. This cleaning agent effectively removes both polar and nonpolar contaminants from various electrical and mechanical parts and is readily used without surfactants, thereby reducing the need for additional cleaning operations. The cleaning agent is warm water rinsable without the use of surfactants. The cleaning agent can be azeotropic, enhancing ease of use in cleaning operations and ease of recycling.

Limonene and tetrahydrofurfurly alcohol cleaning agent
