A new and distinct apricot variety is described. The variety results from selection among a population of seedlings derived from controlled crossing of the varieties 'Bhart' (not patented), marketed as Orangered&#x2122; and 'Late Moorpark' (not patented). The new variety, initially designated StB14/15 and now designated Nzsummer3, is distinguished from others by medium sized fruit with a deep red overcolour when mature accompanied by mid orange coloured firm flesh and low ethylene characteristics. Fruit of Nzsummer3 matures in early to late February in Otago, New Zealand.

The variety results from selection among a population of seedlings derived from controlled crossing of the varieties 'Bhart' (not patented), marketed as Orangered&#x2122;, and an unreleased selection (not patented) which was the result of crossing 'Cluthagold' (not patented) and 'Late Moorpark' (not patented). The new variety is distinguished from others by the late harvest date and rose/red overcolor of the mature fruit accompanied by mid orange colored firm flesh with high soluble solids content. Fruit of &#x2018;Mac12/54&#x2019; matures in early to mid February in Otago, New Zealand.

The variety results from selection among a population of seedlings derived from controlled crossing of the apricot varieties known as 'Late Moorpark' (not patented) and 'Bhart' (not patented), marketed as Orangered&#x2122;. The new variety is distinguished from others by the deep red over color of the mature fruit accompanied by mid-orange colored firm flesh with high soluble solids content. Fruit of 'StB14/22' matures in mid-February in Otago, New Zealand.

The variety results from selection among a population of seedlings derived from controlled crossing of the varieties 'Bhart' (not patented), marketed as Orangered&#x2122;, and an unreleased selection (not patented) which was the result of crossing 'Cluthagold' (not patented) and 'Late Moorpark' (not patented). The new variety is distinguished from others by the deep rose over color of the mature fruit accompanied by deep orange colored firm flesh with high soluble solids content. Fruit of &#x2018;Mac12/45&#x2019; matures in early February in Otago, New Zealand and is notably precocious, fruiting in the second year after planting in Otago, New Zealand.

A new and distinct plum variety is described. The variety results from a seedling of unknown parentage, the original plant was raised from seed and was planted at Havelock North, Hawke's Bay, New Zealand. In 2003, 'LRP40A' was identified as having potential as a new variety and was propagated for further trials. 'LRP40A' was selected for its desirable tree and fruit characteristics (firm red flesh, balanced fruit flavour), and the timing of the harvest.

A new and distinct plum variety is described. The variety results from selection among a population of seedlings derived from collecting seed from open pollinated fruit. Seedlings generated from the open pollination were planted out at Lawn Road, Havelock North, Hawke's Bay, New Zealand. In 2003, 'LRP40/205' was identified as having potential as a new variety and was propagated for further trials. 'LRP40/205' was selected for its desirable tree and fruit characteristics, and timing of the harvest.

A new and distinct apricot variety is described. The variety results from the open pollination of the variety 'Goldstrike' (U.S. Plant Pat. No. 7,035). Seedlings generated from the open pollination were planted at Clyde, Otago, New Zealand. In 2002 D14/1 was identified as having potential as a new variety, it has since been given the denomination 'Clutha Summer'. The fruit of 'Clutha Summer' have been shown to have a very attractive appearance with between 25 to 85% cover of a deep rose red blush, along with a superb flavour. This variety is also characterised by its firm melting, semi-cling stone flesh, excellent keeping quality, and the timing of harvest.

A new and distinct variety of nectarine tree () named 'Hortarine1' is described. The variety results from selection among a population of open-pollinated seedlings of the peach variety known as 'Peacharine' (not patented). The fruit of this new variety has an attractive appearance characterized by yellow skin color with dark red blush, yellow flesh with no anthocyanin present, and intense flavor. The new variety appears suitable for the fresh fruit market and has been named 'Hortarine1'.

Nectarine tree named 'Hortarine1'

A new and distinct variety of peach tree ( ), named 'Southern Star', is described. The new variety is a selection derived from the open pollinated seed of 'Yumyeong' (not patented) and is distinguishable from the parent variety by ripening 1 week earlier than &lsquo;Yumyeong&rsquo; and having sweeter, more aromatic fruit. Its novelty consists of a unique combination of features that include late flowering, heavy and regular cropping, large, very firm, white flesh, crisp-textured, clingstone fruit with a red overcolor. Fruit have a sweet, sub-acid flavor.
