A printed gas sensor is disclosed. The sensor may include a partially porous substrate, an electrode layer, an electrolyte layer, and an encapsulation layer. The electrode layer comprises one or more electrodes that are formed on one side of the porous substrate. The electrolyte layer is in electrolytic contact with the one or more electrodes. The encapsulation layer encapsulates the electrode layer and electrolyte layer thereby forming an integrated structure with the partially porous substrate.

Printed gas sensor

A method and system of globally monitoring space weather conditions, use an imager, including one or more telescopic instruments and one or more processors, containing computer program code. The imager is configured on a platform; and positioned in the near Earth space environment, where, based on the executed computer program code, the imager compiles information about space weather conditions, by directly detecting electron emissions on a global basis. Network interfaces coupled with the imager provide, over a communications network, a plurality of communications and information, about space weather conditions, between the imager and a plurality of operational space assets and operational Earth assets. The plurality of communications and information about space weather conditions includes signals and information which automatically alert the plurality of operational space assets and operational Earth assets of effects of a solar wind.

Method and system of imaging electrons in the near earth space environment

This invention provides devices for the measurement of total organic carbon content in water samples. The device has a microfluidic sample cell with a sample channel for receiving a water sample wherein the water sample can be irradiated with UV radiation to oxidize organics to CO . The sample channel is sufficiently thin in the region irradiated to allow very rapid substantial mineralization of the organics in the sample. A photocatalyst, such as TiO or platinized TiO can be employed to speed sample oxidation. Substantial mineralization of a sample can be achieved in less than about 30 seconds, significantly decreasing the time required for making a TOC measurement. CO generated by sample oxidation can be detected and/or quantitated by various methods, particularly by conductivity measurements or by infrared methods.

Microfluidic system for measurement of total organic carbon

Processes are provided for preparation of precursors of Group III-V compounds, i.e., nitrides, phosphides, arsenides, antimonides and bismuthides of boron, aluminum, gallium and indium. The precursors are easily converted, e.g., by thermal decomposition, to the Group III-V compounds which are useful as thin-film coatings for aerospace components or as powders which may be shaped as desired.

Methods for low and ambient temperature preparation of precursors of compounds of group III metals and group V elements

This invention provides a fiber optic sensor and sensor devices for the reversible detection of basic gas analytes, including hydrazine, alkyl hydrazines, amines, ammonia, and related chemical species. The optical fiber sensor is formed in an optical fiber which conventionally comprises an optical fiber core and a cladding layer. Transducer molecules are immobilized in contact with an exposed surface of the fiber core to allow interaction of the immobilized species with analytes in the environment around the sensor. Preferred transducer molecules for detection of basic gases, particularly hydrazine and hydrazine derivatives, are xanthene dyes and triphenylmethane dyes, including malachite green and crystal violet. The sensors of this invention can be employed in a variety of device configurations including single-site sensors and multiple-site sensor networks.
