A vehicular roof headlining includes an integrated head protection restraining apparatus in the form of several inflatable gas bags which are stowed folded in a trough-shaped receiving body 18 in the border region of the headlining and form, together with the headlining, a preassembled module.

A lateral impact protective device for a front and a rear vehicle occupant comprises an elongated head gas bag which is convertable from a folded state to an inflated state. The gas bag has two opposite lateral ends and is adapted to extend, in the inflated state, from sidewards of said front vehicle occupant as far as sidewards of said rear vehicle occupant. The lateral protective device provides a common and, therefore, low-price protection for the front and the rear vehicle occupant.

In a gas bag protective device for a vehicle occupant with an inflatable gas bag, a gas generator with a plurality of gas outlet openings and a generally tubular diffusor surrounding the gas generator and provided with a plurality of gas distribution openings are located within the gas bag. A casing is provided for accommodating the gas bag in a folded condition, the diffusor and the gas generator.

Gas bag protective device

In a gas bag restraining system for a vehicle a gas (12) is folded up in the inactivated state in a housing (10) on the frame of a vehicle side window (4). The gas bag is adapted, when there is a collision, to be automatically inflated to unfold over at least a part of the area of the side window to afford lateral protection against impact for a vehicle occupant. The housing (10) of the gas bag (12) is located at one corner of the lateral window, which is constituted by two frame sections (6, 8), converging together at an angle, of the lateral window (4). Two elongated guide elements (16, 18) fixed to the vehicle extend respectively along the said frame sections (6, 8). A number of holding elements (20) for the gas bag (12) are adapted to run on each guide element (16, 18) for longitudinal sliding movement. The holding elements (20) are secured to the gas bag (12) along two lateral edges of the gas bag corresponding to the frame sections (6, 8).

A safety belt retractor for motor vehicles comprises a belt spool (2) and a belt pretensioner (30), the pyrotechnical drive (32) of which is activatable via an electrical igniter (11) by means of an inertial sensor (10). The belt spool (2) is coupled to the rotor and the base member of the belt retractor to the stator of a current generator (3 to 7), the terminals of which are connected to a current collector (9) via a switch in the electrical igniter (11).

The locking means for the drive member of a passive safety-belt system includes a pivotally mounted ratchet hook which secures the drive member in its end position corresponding to the belt fastening position. The ratchet hook is arranged on the side of the drive member to which the tensile force occurring at the drive member is directed under accident load. The nose of the ratchet hook dips into a recess at the upper edge of the drive member. Even after high accident stress due to a head-on collision, in which deformation of the loaded parts occurs, the ratchet hook remains reliably in engagement with the drive member.

Locking means for a drive member of a passive safety-belt system

Fitting for a safety belt for motor vehicles. The fitting is mounted on an adjustment element which is vertically adjustable by displacement in a guide rail secured to the vehicle and adapted to be locked to the guide rail at different vertical positions. In this manner an adaptation of the support or deflection point to the size of the vehicle occupant is possible. According to the invention the adjustment element is in connection with a spring force accumulator tensioned with respect to said element and the guide rail, by which accumulator the displacement movement to be made by hand is aided upwardly and the forces originating from the belt and the weight of the adjustment element overcome, and the displacement movement downwardly is loaded, thus compensating for the aforementioned forces.
