Techniques for electronic signature process management are described. Some embodiments provide an electronic signature service ('ESS') configured to manage electronic identity cards. In some embodiments, the ESS generates and manages an electronic identity card for a user, based on personal information of the user, activity information related to the user's actions with respect to the ESS, and/or social networking information related to the user. The electronic identity card of a signer may be associated with an electronic document signed via the ESS, so that users may obtain information about the signer of the document. The ESS may also generate a trust score for the user based on activity information related to the user's actions with respect to the ESS and/or other factors. The trust score may be used to recommend authentication mechanisms to use with respect to electronic signature transactions.

System and method for identity and reputation score based on transaction history

An apparatus and method for reducing or controlling VOC emissions from a low-pressure storage tank for a VOC-containing substance stored or transported as a liquid in the storage tank are provided. The apparatus and method include a filter media operatively positioned between a headspace in the storage tank and the atmosphere, wherein: (i) a gaseous substance from a headspace in the storage tank passes through the filter media to be vented to the atmosphere; (ii) the filter media comprises a permeable substrate and a liquid stripper for a VOC, wherein the liquid stripper coats the permeable substrate; (iii) the filter media provides a gaseous back pressure across the filter media to the atmosphere of less than 1 psig; and (iv) a liquid condensate from the filter media can drip or flow under gravity back into the storage tank.

Reducing emissions of VOCs from low-pressure storage tanks

A package cartridge is provided for use in the maintenance of a packing bore for a plunger-type pump. According to one aspect, a packing cartridge includes: a generally-cylindrical sleeve adapted to be at least partially positioned in the packing bore, a first abutment ring positioned in the sleeve, and a second abutment ring positioned in the sleeve and co-axially spaced apart from the first abutment ring. Telescoping structures are operatively positioned between the first abutment ring and the second abutment ring. According to another aspect, a structure forming a circumferential pressure-ring groove is provided. A pressure ring is positioned in the pressure-ring groove, the pressure ring having at least one smaller external dimension than an internal dimension of the pressure-ring groove, whereby at least one clearance is provided between the pressure-ring groove and the pressure ring. These aspects can be advantageously practiced together.

Packing cartridges and pressure-dampening elements for plunger-type pumps

A method is provided for reducing emissions of a volatile organic compound ('VOC') from a source of the VOC. The method includes the steps of: (A) operatively positioning a VOC-absorbing material between the source of the VOC and the atmosphere, wherein the VOC from the source of the VOC must pass through the VOC-absorbing material before being vented to the atmosphere, and wherein the VOC-absorbing material comprises: (i) a permeable substrate; and (ii) a stripper for the VOC; and (B) exposing the stripper of the VOC-absorbing material to bacteria, wherein the bacteria is selected for being capable of converting the VOC to another compound. A method for pumping a fluid from a low-pressure fluid source to a high-pressure fluid outlet and a method for storing or transporting a fluid are also provided, wherein the fluid comprises a VOC.

Methods and apparatuses for reducing emissions of volatile organic compounds from pumps and storage tanks for VOC-containing fluids

An apparatus is provided for pumping a fluid, wherein the fluid comprises a volatile organic compound ('VOC'), the apparatus including: an enclosure for the exposed portion of the reciprocating piston or plunger; and a VOC-absorbing material operatively positioned to reduce VOC emissions from the enclosure to the atmosphere. According to another aspect, a method is provided for pumping a fluid comprising a VOC is provided. According to yet another aspect, a method is provided for reducing emissions of a VOC from a positive-displacement pump used for pumping a fluid, wherein the fluid comprises the VOC, and wherein the method includes the steps of: (i) enclosing at least the exposed portion of the reciprocating piston or plunger to form an enclosure; and (ii) operatively positioning a VOC-absorbing material to reduce VOC emissions from the enclosure to the atmosphere. Preferably, the VOC-absorbing material comprises peat moss.

Apparatuses and methods for reducing emissons of volatile organic compounds when pumping fluids containing volatile organic compounds with a positive displacement pump

An apparatus and method are disclosed for obtaining and analyzing light scattering data to determine the size distribution of a group of dispersed particles that scattered the light. The apparatus and method use a two-dimensional array of photosensitive pixels such as a charge-coupled device (CCD) or an array of solid-state photodiodes. The analyzer illuminates the particles with a dose of light in a collimated beam from a light source so as to scatter light of the beam, and at least a portion of the light interacting with the particles is detected with the photosensitive pixel array. The pixels are functionally equivalent and the analyzer dynamically configures and re-configures at least a portion of the pixels into a variable number of data collection areas which correspond to a selected set of scattering angles. The analyzer also determines whether and, from the pixel output data, where an unscattered center of the incident light beam intersects the pixel array. Thus, no precision mechanical alignment of the light source and the pixel array detector is required prior to operation of the analyzer. Furthermore, the ability of the analyzer to determine the unscattered beam center allows the analyzer to classify each of at least a portion of the pixels to data collection areas according to a function of the geometric relationship the pixel bears to the location of the beam center.
