Wax compositions derived from metathesized natural oils and amines and methods of making wax compositions from metathesized natural oils and amines are provided. The wax compositions comprise amidated metathesized natural oils formed from a metathesized natural oil and at least one amine. The methods comprise providing an amine and providing a metathesized natural oil. The methods further comprise mixing the amine and the metathesized natural oil in the presence of a basic catalyst or heat, causing a reaction between the amine and metathesized natural oil, therein forming the amidated metathesized natural oil.

Personal care compositions containing pituitous silicone fluids compositions are disclosed. The silicone fluid compositions contain certain branched and/or high molecular weight organopolysiloxanes that demonstrate pituitous rheological behavior. When formulated into personal care compositions, the silicone fluids provide enhanced sensory and film-forming properties based on their pituitous rheological properties.

A method of making an organosiloxane containing ester derivatives of ascorbic acid and the products prepared according to the method arc also taught. The compounds and compositions of the present disclosure are useful to affect tissue lightening when applied topically to keratinaceous tissue.

The W/O emulsion is otherwise free of silicone elastomers prepared using unsaturated compounds containing silicon atoms. This invention is directed to an elastomer composition produced by crosslinking a high molecular weight &equiv;Si&mdash;H containing polysiloxane and a diene, diyne or ene-yne compound in the presence of a diluent. Roll-on, soft solid paste, aerosol, and stick underarm compositions contain (i) an antiperspirant or deodorant active ingredient, (ii) a vehicle, (iii) an emollient, and (iv) a blend of a silicone rubber powder and an &agr;,&ohgr;-diene crosslinked silicone elastomer. When the silicone rubber powder and the &agr;,&ohgr;-diene crosslinked silicone elastomer are present in the blend in a weight ratio of 1:2 to 1:6, respectively, roll-on underarm compositions possess low separation of less than one percent, and syneresis is minimized in soft solid paste underarm compositions.

Underarm compositions containing &agr;,&ohgr;-diene crosslinked silicone elastomers and silicone rubber powders

Thickening can be obtained by adding a silicone latex to the water phase of a water-in-silicone emulsion, instead of adding the silicone latex to the silicone phase of the emulsion. The latex is used in a range of about 0.1-5.0% by weight. Thick emulsions are made by (i) separately preparing a silicone phase containing a silicone polyether and a cyclic siloxane; (ii) separately preparing an aqueous phase containing water and at least one active ingredient; (iii) adding the latex to the aqueous phase; and (iv) combining and mixing the phases.

Method of making thick water-in-silicone emulsions

There is disclosed a method for foam control wherein the antifoam agent is an emulsion gelled silicon composition prepared by first dispersing a curable liquid organopolysiloxane composition in a liquid continuous phase to form an emulsion and then curing the liquid silicone organopolysiloxane in-situ to a gelled state. Preferred compositions of the present invention find particular utility in the control of foam in aqueous detergent systems.

A dispersible silicone antifoam composition for providing controlled foaming liquid laundry detergent formulations and wherein there is provided a non-aqueous emulsion of primary and secondary silicone antifoam agents, at least one nonionic silicone surfactant for emulsifying the primary and secondary antifoam agents in a solvent, a first organic surfactant dispersing agent for assisting in dispersing the emulsified primary and secondary antifoam agents in the liquid laundry detergent, and a second dispersing agent of a nonionic difunctional block-copolymer terminating in primary hydroxyl groups for further assisting in dispersing the emulsified primary and secondary anitfoam agents in the liquid laundry detergent.
