Described are implants for placing in a body, tools for delivering the implants, and systems and methods for using implants and tools for placing in a body and more particularly to nasal implants, tools for delivering nasal implants, and systems and methods for using such implants and tools.

Nasal implants and methods of use

A nasal implant delivery tool includes an inner handle, an outer handle, a needle, and a push rod. The inner handle includes a loading chamber configured to receive a nasal implant. The outer handle is configured to move axially relative to the inner handle. The needle extends distally from the inner handle and has a central lumen and a distal opening. The push rod is configured to move the nasal implant from the loading chamber, through the central lumen, and out the distal opening of the needle. The push rod is coupled to the outer handle such that the push rod moves axially relative to the inner handle when the outer handle is moved axially relative to the inner handle. Also described herein are nasal implant guides and methods of using nasal implant delivery tools and nasal implant guides.

Nasal delivery tools, systems, and methods of use

Nasal implants are provided that have a planar type profile with open spaces through portions of the planar type profile. The nasal implant can be compressible along one or more dimensions of the nasal implant, such as the width and length of the planar type profile. Delivery tools for deploying the nasal implants within the nasal tissue are also provided. Methods for deploying the nasal implants within the nasal tissue of the patient are also provided.

A tool may include a hand-held implant delivery device that holds, moves, orients, inserts, or shapes an implant. An implant may be a biodegradable, longitudinal implant that may be oriented for implantation by an implant delivery device.

In another example, a bioresorbable implant for use in a nasal region includes one or more bioresorbable polymers, and a pharmaceutical composition coupled to the one or more bioresorbable polymers. A release rate of the pharmaceutical composition is related to a degradation rate of the one or more bioresorbable polymers.

Allergic rhinitis drug delivery implant

A treatment system delivers a breathing gas and frozen ice or other particles (FSP) to a bronchus of a lung of a patient in order to induce hypothermia. The breathing gas and the FSP are usually delivered through separate lumens. Clogging of an FSP lumen can be inhibited by heating and/or cooling of the lumen. The temperature of exhaled gases or a body temperature may be measured, and a controller can adjust the duration or rate at which the ice particles are delivered in order to control the patient's core temperature based on the measured temperature.

Systems and methods for endotracheal delivery of frozen particles

An electrosurgical ablation device provides pulse width modulated DC power to a heating segment in a catheter for use in providing treatment. In some embodiments the DC power to be modulated is sourced from an AC/DC power converter coupled to a source of AC power. In some embodiments the DC power to be modulated is sourced from a battery. In some embodiments the device switchably selects for modulation DC power sourced from either the AC/DC power converter or the battery, for example based on availability of power from the AC/DC power converter.

An apparatus for introducing an implant into a hollow anatomical structure. The apparatus comprises a storage unit having an exit opening and defining a chamber in communication with the exit opening; an elongate, self-expanding vascular implant having an expanded condition and stored within the chamber in the expanded condition, proximal of the exit opening; and a pushrod having a distal end aligned with and proximal of the exit opening. The pushrod is pre-assembled to a distal end of the implant. Associated methods, and other apparatus and methods, are also disclosed.

Method and apparatus for storage and/or introduction of implant for hollow anatomical structure

A device having multiple chambers may be configured to expand to contact a substantial section of an interior wall of a body structure or lumen in order to simultaneously exclude blood or other liquid from a target structure while providing for delivery of a therapeutic agent directly to the interior wall. The expandable device may be manufactured from a plurality of flat sheets of material heat sealed to one another to form an inflation chamber and one, two or more delivery chambers. The sheets may also be bonded to an elongate catheter body having inflation and delivery lumens. The excluding of blood flow and delivery of therapeutic agents are completed by the same device.

Multiple chamber, expandable therapeutic agent delivery device

Apparatus and methods for generating foam are disclosed. The inventions can be used for generating foam for sclerotherapy. A foaming element can be agitated within a foaming chamber by a drive unit that does not touch the foaming element, but actuates it from outside the foaming chamber. The foaming element and drive unit can be magnetically coupled. A syringe can be used to form a foaming chamber.
