A rotary piston machine is disclosed. In one aspect, the machine includes a piston chamber that is defined in a housing by a first sidewall, a second sidewall and a peripheral wall interconnecting these sidewalls and a rotary piston that is rotatably arranged in the piston chamber and has a first face and a second face. The first face of the rotary piston faces an interior of the first sidewall of the piston chamber and the second face of the rotary piston faces an interior of the second sidewall of the piston chamber. at least one ventilation bore is provided in the first and/or the second sidewall of the piston chamber and connected to at least one ventilation channel, wherein the at least one ventilation bore is arranged at a location that radially lies within at least one first lateral seal.

A current generating unit configured to extend the range of an electric vehicle, including an internal combustion engine formed by a rotary-piston engine, and at least one electric machine cofigured to be excited by permanent magnets and arranged coaxially to the internal combustion engine. The internal combustion engine and the electric machine are arranged as a unit and include a common housing and a common cooling system, with at least one cooling channel arrangement disposed on the electric side and configured to cool an electric component in the cooling circuit of the cooling system upstream of at least one cooling channel arrangement of the internal combustion engine.

Current generating unit

A piston assembly is disclosed. In one aspect, the piston assembly includes a rotary piston, wherein the rotary piston comprises a first axis of rotation, a central bore having bore axis and at least two curved first constraint surfaces, and wherein the bore axis substantially corresponds to the first axis of rotation. The piston assembly also includes a substantially hollow-cylindrical bearing ring configured to be at least partially inserted in the central bore. The piston assembly further includes at least one fuse body configured to connect the rotary piston and the bearing ring, and to transmit, at least temporarily, a force in the two opposite axial directions relating to the first axis of rotation between the rotary piston and bearing ring.

A rotary piston machine is disclosed. In one aspect, the machine includes a shaft and a shaft encoder including a first structure, based on which the rotational speed and/or the rotational position of the shaft can be determined by scanning the first structure with a sensor. The shaft encoder has a rotationally asymmetrical mass distribution in order to produce an imbalance.
