The application relates to a power switch for breaking an electrical circuit when current and/or current time span threshold values are exceeded, including an energy converter, which on the primary side is connected to the electrical circuit, and on the secondary side provides an energy supply for at least one control unit of the power switch. A choke is connected between the secondary-side output of the energy converter and the control unit of the power switch.

Circuit breaker

A circuit breaker is for interrupting an electric current circuit when current and/or current time period thresholds are exceeded. The circuit breaker includes at least one control unit, to which energy is supplied by an energy converter. A primary winding of the energy converter is formed by a conductor of the electric current circuit. The core of the energy conductor surrounding the electric current circuit conductor is used as the primary winding. A secondary winding surrounds a section of the core. The secondary winding additionally surrounds an inductor core, arranged relative to the core using an insulating spacer element. The secondary winding and the inductor core are at least party magnetically shielded from the primary winding by a shielding plate guided through the core.

Power switch

An energy supply for an electrical circuit breaker includes a current converter with a primary conductor and a secondary winding. The energy supply further has a triac with two main connections and one control connection, the triac being connected electrically in parallel with the secondary winding via the main connections. A series circuit including at least two zener diodes is connected to the control connection of the triac at one end and to a main connection of the triac at the other end.
