A roller () is used for guiding and/or width stretching of a running material web (). The roller () has a supporting body (), on the outside of which receptacles () for axially displaceably held battens () are provided. These grasp the material web (). In order to improve the functionality of this roller (), at least one undercut groove () is formed on the supporting body () between at least two of the battens (). This undercut groove () can receive at least one functional component ().

Roller for guiding and/or width stretching of a running material web

A segment roller () has a roller body (), which is mounted rotatably about an axis (). To this end, the roller body () has on the outside grooves (), in which tongues () of profiles () engage. These profiles () grip the material web () directly or indirectly. In order to increase the working life and improve the mechanical properties of the profiles (), the profiles () are of shear-resistant configuration and have elastic lips (). These elastic lips () are deformed upon the engagement of the tongue () in the groove ().

Segment roller

The present invention relates to an apparatus for emitting light, comprising linearly arranged devices for radiating light. According to the invention, modular elements are provided which carry the devices for radiating light. The modular elements each carry one device for radiating light and can each be installed and replaced separately in the apparatus for emitting light. This facilitates simpler maintenance of the apparatus. According to a further aspect of the invention, a cooling system is provided to increase the life of the apparatus. According to a further aspect of the invention, a special diaphragm and a diffuser are provided in order to generate a more efficient light output or a more efficiently bundled light beam.
