A vehicle includes an engine and a transmission coupled to the engine. A vehicle controller is programmed to, in response to a shift of the transmission with the vehicle being in a sport mode or other precondition being present, command the engine to skip one or more fuel injector events of the engine during an inertia phase of the shift.

A vehicle includes an engine, a transmission, and a controller. The engine is configured to generate power. The transmission is configured to transfer power from the engine to at least one drive wheel to propel the vehicle. The controller is programmed to, in response to a command to shift the transmission and a corresponding command to decrease a torque of the engine to less than a threshold corresponding to a spark retard limit during the shift, (i) increase the pressure of an oncoming clutch to engage the oncoming clutch, (ii) retard an engine spark at the spark retard limit to reduce the torque of the engine to the threshold during the engagement of the oncoming clutch, and (iii) shutdown at least one cylinder of the engine to further reduce the torque of the engine to less than the threshold during the engagement of the oncoming clutch.

Systems and method are provided for an internal combustion engine with boosted operation. In an example, this includes operating the engine with boosted intake pressure via a supercharger and with supercharger flow regulated by a vacuum actuated bypass valve, and in response to a supercharger outlet temperature greater than a first threshold, increasing a blow through air passing from the engine intake to engine exhaust without combustion in a cylinder of the engine due to engine intake and exhaust valves having positive valve overlap; and then in response to the supercharger outlet temperature greater than a second, higher, threshold, limiting engine airflow.

A method of detecting and mitigating Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) spoofing events may comprise determining a first vehicle state based on an Inertial Navigation System (INS) without GNSS input, determining a second vehicle state based on an INS with GNSS input, and comparing the first vehicle states. When a difference between the vehicle states exceeds a predetermined threshold, the method concludes that GNSS spoofing is present, and utilizes only the first vehicle state as a correct vehicle state. The method may further implement at least one state processing path, comprising consecutive processing runs based on INS sensors. The method may further comprise reevaluating the vehicle state processing path, when the difference between the first vehicle state and the second vehicle state exceeds a threshold, to extricate a GNSS component from the processing path to at least a predetermined amount of time prior to when the GNSS spoofing was detected.

A power transmission device comprises a primary winding magnetically coupled to a resonant secondary which comprises a plurality of magnetic resonators, each magnetic resonator comprising a magnetic winding. The magnetic resonators are connected in series and arranged so that the magnetic axis of each magnetic resonator is coupled to the primary winding. In operation, a power source supplies alternating current at an operating frequency to the primary of a power transmission device used as a transmitter. A load is coupled to the primary of a power transmission device used as a receiver. Collectors may be coupled to either or both of the transmit or receive device. A return line may be coupled to either or both of the transmit or receive device.

In one aspect, a computer implemented method may include a security token that enables sign-on into a group applications based on applicable trust criteria. A pressure compensating device includes a compensating disc located within an internal chamber of a housing. The compensating disc has a diaphragm over which fluid passes after entering the internal chamber. The diaphragm deflects in response to a pressure differential between fluid entering the internal chamber and fluid exiting the internal chamber to maintain the set flow rate of the fluid.

A hybrid powertrain includes an internal combustion engine, an electro-mechanical transmission and an electric machine. In an engine starting routine, flow control devices located proximate each combustion chamber in the engine initially restrict airflow into the cylinders to allow for a starter motor to rotate the engine at lower expansion and compression torque whereafter rotation of the engine is transitioned to the electric machine.

Method for starting an internal combustion engine within a hybrid powertrain

A control system includes an auto-stop module, an auto-start module, and a starter module. The auto-stop module stops an engine when a brake pedal position is greater than a threshold position and a transmission is in a drive gear. The auto-start module starts the engine when the brake pedal position is less than a minimum position and the engine stop is initiated. When the engine start is initiated and an engine speed is greater than zero, the starter module engages a pinion gear of a starter with a ring gear of an engine by reciprocally actuating the pinion gear N times between a retracted position and an extended position, wherein N is an integer greater than two.

An engine system comprises a temperature determination module, a temperature comparison module, and a fuel injection control module. The temperature determination module determines an engine temperature. The temperature comparison module compares the engine temperature and a temperature threshold. The fuel injection control module adjusts a timing of fuel injection from a first range of an intake stroke to a second range of the intake stroke based on the comparison. The first range and the second range do not overlap.

A flexible control membrane having specific design and material characteristics extends across the land and will move or oscillate away or towards the outlet port in response to changes in head pressure, venous back pressure or patient movement. The resulting oscillation of the membrane serves to maintain the flow rate originally set by the clinician.
