A system and method are provided for a analyzing a refresh rate of a device under test (DUT) such as a volatile memory device that includes a memory and an associated memory controller. The method includes acquiring refresh data based upon signals between the memory and the memory controller of the volatile memory device over a time period, determining the refresh rate of the volatile memory device for time windows of the time period based upon the acquired refresh data, and displaying the refresh rate of the volatile memory device, compared to a refresh threshold, on a graphical user interface (GUI), for each of the time windows over the time period.

A logic analyzer and method of logic analysis: detect via one or more probes a plurality of signals associated with a double data rate (DDR) random access memory (RAM); analyze the detected signals to identify a plurality of Transactions for the DDR RAM pertaining to a plurality of Operations for the DDR RAM; select one of the plurality of Operations for the DDR RAM; identify all of the Transactions for the DDR RAM which pertain to the selected Operation; and display indications of all of the Transactions for the DDR RAM which pertain to the selected Operation together on a display window of a display device.

A method of configuring a logic analyzer based on user input received through a graphical user interface (GUI) comprises receiving at least one first GUI input identifying at least one characteristic of a target system configured to be connected to the logic analyzer, receiving at least one second GUI input indicating a footprint associated with the target system, and receiving at least one third GUI input indicating a mapping between the footprint and a connector of the logic analyzer.

A logic analyzer integrates the capabilities of both textual and graphical description into a common environment, so that each can be used as needed, and in conjunction with the other. In an example embodiment a trigger specification can comprise many &ldquo;steps&rdquo;. A step can be conceptualized as an atomic segment of flow charting that involves or investigates a quantity or condition of interest. These steps may involve testing, and a decision concerning whether or not to trigger or whether or not to advance to a next step. A given step can be either textual or graphical. A GUI (Graphical User Interface, as in computer windows, and not to be confused with 'graphical' meaning 'waveform-like') on a CRT screen in conjunction with a pointing device (e.g., mouse) provides the presentation of the integrated textual and graphical (waveform-like) trigger specification steps.

A system is disclosed for displaying one or more lists of signal or bus identifiers on a graphical user interface of a logic analyzer. One of the lists is visually associated with one name of a list of signal or bus names. The system enables a user to graphically select one or more desired identifiers of the one or more lists of signal or bus identifiers. The selection of an identifier in a list visually associated with a name assigns a signal or bus identified by that identifier with the name. The lists of signal or bus identifiers may be visually associated with the signal or bus names by horizontal alignment.
