A clarifier can comprise a floor, inner and outer walls that each extends upwardly from the floor such that a tank is at least partially defined by the inner wall and a launder channel is at least partially defined between the inner and outer walls and is disposed along at least a majority of a periphery of the tank. A launder cover comprising one or more flexible sheets can be disposed over at least a majority of the launder channel. Each of the sheet(s) can have opposing inner and outer edges, the inner edge coupled to the inner wall and the outer edge coupled to the outer wall, and can be configured such that, when a single one of the inner and outer edges is decoupled from the inner and outer walls, the sheet is deformable to at least partially uncover the launder channel.

Flexible launder covers and related methods

A treatment system is disclosed and includes a storage basin for retaining liquid, a cover system that covers the storage basin, and media disposed within liquid retained in the storage basin. In an embodiment, the media may be attached to the cover system. In an additional or alternative embodiment, the media may be detached from the cover system. In some embodiments of treatment systems having detached media, one or more stands may be provided for supporting the media. Configuring the treatment system to include both the cover system and the media may improve the operational efficiency of the storage basin, and may increase the volume or amount of liquid that may be treated by the treatment system.

This disclosure includes sludge covers, sludge management systems, and related methods. Some sludge covers use or include a mesh layer configured to be disposed over sludge and/or a supportive layer configured to be disposed over sludge and, if present, the mesh layer, and a substantially fluid-impermeable layer configured to be disposed over the mesh layer, if present, and the supportive layer, if present.

Sludge covers, sludge management systems, and related methods

A cover system for a storage pond formed using a liner is disclosed. A cover flap, a liner flap and an anchor flap are preassembled either off-site at a factory or on-site. The anchor flap is disposed in an anchor trench and the anchor trench is backfilled. The liner is deployed and the perimeter is welded to the liner flap. The cover is deployed and the perimeter is welded to the cover flap. The above welding is preferably fusion welding and could take place in any order.

Cover systems with fusion welds

A covering system that includes a first membrane, a first flotation member coupled to the first membrane. The first flotation member includes a first float and a first float compartment membrane, and the first float compartment membrane is coupled to the first membrane. The covering system also includes a first plurality of gas-relief passageways positioned either within the first float compartment membrane, or within the first membrane and adjacent to the first flotation member. And at least one of the gas-relief passageways within the first plurality is structured so that gas flows unobstructed through it when the system is used. Gas-relief openings formed between overlapping membranes may also be utilized as avenues through which gas may escape to atmosphere from beneath the covers and covering systems. Venting methods are also disclosed. The covering systems and methods may be applied to control odor, algae growth, and heat loss associated with the retaining various liquids, while permitting for the controlled release of gases that are produced.
