A radar device. The radar device includes a transceiver apparatus that comprises at least three transmit antennas and at least three receive antennas or comprises at least two transmit antennas and at least two receive antennas having two-dimensional beam forming, wherein the transceiver apparatus is configured to emit radar radiation using the transmit antennas, to receive radar radiation using the receive antennas, and to generate radar data on the basis of the received radar radiation. The radar device further comprises an evaluation apparatus that is configured to establish whether radar radiation has propagated between the transceiver apparatus and the at least one target either directly or at least partly by way of at least one reflection by evaluating the radar data using a multitarget angle estimation model, wherein the multitarget angle estimation model takes the propagation of radar radiation along at least four paths into consideration.

A method for manufacturing a radar sensor. In the method, a circuit board is provided. A surface of the circuit board is equipped with a radar transceiver. A waveguide structure made of plastic material is provided. Waveguide channels including at least one metallic conductively coated side wall in the waveguide structure and an open side are formed. A radar sensor for motor vehicles. The radar sensor includes an antenna arrangement having multiple antenna elements linearly arranged at uniform distances along a connecting line, the distance between each two adjacent antenna elements being equal to half of the mean wavelength λ of the emitted radar signal, and the arrangement including at least one triple of adjacent antenna elements, in which the two antenna elements located on the outside in the triple, on the one hand, and the interposed antenna element, on the other hand, originate in opposite directions from the connecting line. The antenna arrangement includes at least one pair of antenna elements which originate in opposite directions from the connecting line and whose distance from one another is an integer multiple of the wavelength λ, so that one of these antenna elements has a negative amplitude taper in relation to the antenna elements of the triple.

Radar sensor for motor vehicles

A MIMO radar sensor including an array of transmitting antenna elements and receiving antenna elements that are offset relative to one another in a predefined direction, and including at least two electronic chips that are associated with different selections of the transmitting antenna elements and receiving antenna elements. At least one receiving antenna element is connectable to both chips, and the array includes at least one configuration of antenna elements that is made up of a transmitting antenna element with which the chip is associated, a receiving antenna element with which the chip is associated, a transmitting antenna element with which the chip is associated, and a receiving antenna element with which the chip is associated, and in which configuration the offset between the transmitting antenna elements matches the offset between the receiving antenna elements.

A high-frequency circuit including a circuit board which bears at least one electronic component and a conductor structure, and including a waveguide structure manufactured separately from the circuit board. The waveguide structure is positioned on the circuit board in such a way that high-frequency signals are transferable between the conductor structure on the circuit board and the waveguide structure. The waveguide structure is held with the aid of press-fit pins on the circuit board.

Estimation of transverse velocities or cartesian velocities of point targets with a radar sensor

A radar sensor is described. The radar sensor includes at least two synchronously operating high frequency components, which each have at least one signal path in which the phase of the transmitted high frequency signal is varied by a temperature-dependent phase difference. In each high frequency component, a phase detector is connected in parallel to the signal path, which supplies a signal that assumes an extremum at a certain phase difference independently of the temperature, and a phase shifter is situated in the signal path, ith the aid of which the phase difference is settable in such a way that the signal of the phase detector assumes the extremum.

Radar sensor including synchronized high frequency components

A MIMO radar sensor for motor vehicles, having an antenna assemblage on a rectangular circuit board whose edges define a y direction and a z direction. The antenna assemblage includes at least two arrays of transmitting antennas and at least two arrays of receiving antennas. Transmitting antennas within each array are offset from one another in a z direction, and the two arrays of the transmitting antennas are offset from one another in a y direction. The receiving antennas within each array are offset from one another in a y direction, and the two arrays of the receiving antennas are offset from one another in a z direction. A high-frequency module is disposed in a central region of the circuit board between the arrays of the transmitting and receiving antennas.

MIMO radar sensor for motor vehicles

An improved evaluation of radar signals, in particular radar signals received by a Uniform Linear Array (ULA) antenna. Through the application of a plurality of different beamformings to the radar signals, drops in the gain can be compensated by the beamforming.

Method and device for evaluating radar signals

An evaluation device for at least one radar sensor having an electronic unit which is designed to evaluate measuring signals of the radar sensor. The radar sensor is designed in such a way that, during its measuring cycles, it emits radar signals and to receive radar signals reflected from an area surrounding the radar sensor and outputs signals corresponding to the received reflected radar signals as measuring signals, while the radar sensor remains inactive for a predetermined pause time between two successive measuring cycles. A method for operating a radar sensor system including multiple radar sensors operating independently of one another in a motor vehicle, wherein the radar sensors are synchronized with one another with respect to their transmission times and transmission frequencies in such a way that two radar signals whose frequency separation is smaller than a certain minimum frequency separation are at no point in time transmitted simultaneously.
