An electric parking brake for an automotive vehicle comprises a brake caliper having first and second bores. A first piston is mounted in the first bore and a second piston is mounted in the second bore. A first actuator supports the first piston and a second actuator supports the second piston. The first and second actuators are controlled individually.

A vehicle brake system having a hydraulically actuatable disc brake device which has an electromechanical operating device for activating a parking brake function, wherein the vehicle brake system has a hydraulic circuit with a hydraulic pressure source and also has activatable hydraulic functional elements in order to hydraulically actuate the disc brake device in accordance with a service braking action by a driver or an automatic activation, wherein the vehicle brake system also has a control device in order to actuate the electromechanical operating device in accordance with a parking braking action by the driver or an automatic activation of the parking brake function. Here, to avoid residual slippage torques, it is provided that the hydraulic circuit can be actuated by the control device such that, upon the triggering of the parking brake function through actuation of the electromechanical operating device, a hydraulic pressure is built up in the disc brake device, which hydraulic pressure is large enough to elastically deform hydraulic seal elements in the disc brake device corresponding to an elastic deformation during a service braking operation.

Vehicle brake system for a motor vehicle and method for actuating the vehicle brake system

The invention relates to a disk brake for a motor vehicle brake system having a frame-type housing, at least two brake pad arrangements, which are accommodated in the frame-type housing and between which a brake disk that is rotatable about an axis of rotation may be accommodated, and at least two guide bolts, which are mounted on the housing and on which at least one of the brake pad arrangements is guided with play in an axially displaceable manner. To avoid undesirable noises in this disk brake it is provided that on the brake pad arrangement guided on the guide bolts at least one spring element is mounted, which biases said brake pad arrangement relative to the guide bolts into a position corresponding to a tilting movement that results during braking of the brake disk from a braking torque acting on the brake pad arrangement.

The invention relates to a disc brake having a brake carrier which is fastenable to a vehicle frame and provided with studs for guiding at least one brake lining axially with respect to a brake disc, wherein the brake lining includes U-shaped recesses for the studs into which the studs engage, and wherein during braking tensile forces and/or compressive forces are exerted upon inner surfaces of the recesses. The invention is characterized in that an inner surface of at least one of the U-shaped recesses, which surface bears against a respective stud during a brake actuation, is angled with respect to a central plane of the brake lining such that a force that arises between the said surface and the respective stud during braking presses the brake lining into a stable position with respect to the studs. The invention also relates to a brake lining for use in such a disc brake.

Disc brake

A disc brake comprises a brake carrier, which is fastenable to the vehicle and is provided with bolts at the leading side and at the trailing side of the brake, which during braking take up the forces acting upon the brake linings. The relative dimensions and arrangements of the bolts and of the brake lining are such that, upon introduction of a brake force that is capable of decelerating the vehicle up to a maximum value in the region of 0.1 g, only tensile forces act upon the brake lining.
