A process for preparing oil and petroleum-resistant cellular to solid (polyurea)polyurethanes (PURS) with improved physical properties in which a polyether polyol component having a number average molecular weight of from 1000 to 8000 and a polyester polyol component having a number average molecular weight of from 1000 to 6000 are reacted with a polyisocyanate and the (polyurea) polyurethanes produced by that process. The (polyurea)polyurethanes are particularly useful for personal safety equipment and in the construction of automobiles.

Mold release agents useful for the production of plastic molded parts having reduced concentration of undesirable, potentially health hazardous substances in the edge zone and on the surface of the molded part and a process for the production of low toxicity plastic molded parts using such mold release agents. The polyester polyols according to the invention with an average equivalent weight in the range from 200 to 4,000, which were prepared by reacting &agr;,&ohgr;-dicarboxylic acids with butane 1,4-diol, hexane 1,6-diol, propane 1,3-diol or pentane 1,5-diol and with polyols having 3 to 6 hydroxyl groups, are used for the preparation of PUR pourable elastomers with improved resistance to hydrolysis.

The present invention relates to highly active, substantially crystalline double metal cyanide (DMC) catalysts, a process for the preparation of these double metal cyanide catalysts, a process for producing polyether polyols by the polyaddition of alcohol ethers onto starter compounds containing active hydrogen atoms from these DMC catalysts, and to the polyether polyols produced by this process. The DMC catalysts of the invention comprise a) double metal cyanide compounds, b) organic complexing ligands, and c) functionalized polymers. These catalysts exhibit increased activity in the process for the production of polyether polyols.
