The invention relates to a smoke-permeable, moisture-resistant, tubular, biaxially oriented, preferably also heat set food casing containing a mixture of at least one aliphatic (co)polyamide and at least one water-soluble synthetic polymer, and having a water vapor transmission rate of between 40 and 200 g/m&#xb7;d. The water-soluble polymer is preferably a polyvinyl alcohol. Optionally, the mixture also contains additives which influence the optics, haptics, moisture storage capacity and peeling behavior. The casing is preferably tubular and seamless and is produced by extrusion of a corresponding thermoplastic mixture. The inventive casing is preferably used as an artifical sausage casing, especially for smokeable scalded-emulsion sausages.

A coating agent for plastic films which contains an intrinsically electrically conducting polymer and one or more additives which have an anti-adhesion action with respect to a metal coating to be applied to the plastic film can be used to coat plastic films. The plastic films so coated can be used to transfer a coated metal to another substrate.

A weldable and/or heat-sealable, single- or multilayer film having at least one weldable and/or heat-sealable layer, the weldable and/or heat-sealable film being provided on at least one side on one outer surface with an antistatic coating, wherein the antistatic coating has a thickness of from about 0.005 to about 0.08 .mu.m and comprises at least about 60% by weight of a soluble, intrinsically electroconductive polymer which comprises structural units of the formula ##STR1## in which R.sup.1 is a C.sub.1 - to C.sub.12 - or a C.sub.6 - to C.sub.30 -alkoxy group, and which has a degree of polymerization of less than about 100, where the polymer or oligomer is in oxidized form and has an appropriate number of anions to compensate for the positive charge. These films are heat-sealable, in spite of their antistatic coating.

An aqueous dispersion is described which contains electroconductive, doped, polyalkoxythiophene which is soluble in aprotic organic solvents and is insoluble in water. The dispersion has a residual solvent content of less than or equal to 25% by weight, based on the total weight of the dispersion. A process for the preparation of this dispersion and the use of the dispersion for forming coatings on substrates are also described.
