A packaging machine for producing packs with a group of cigarettes as pack content, having individual manufacturing units which are arranged adjacent to one another on a manufacturing line and which are (non-destructively) separable from one another in each case in the region of or along (imaginary) parting planes between them and are removable from the manufacturing line as required, wherein the packaging machine can be converted from a first configuration, in which a first pack type can be manufactured, into a second configuration, in which a second pack type which differs from the first pack type can be manufactured, by removing at least one separable manufacturing unit from the manufacturing line, by replacing at least one separable manufacturing unit with another separable manufacturing unit and/or by adding at least one further separable manufacturing unit to the manufacturing line.

Packaging machine for producing cigarette packs

A cigarette pack with an outer pack in the embodiment as a hinge lid box and with an inner pack as a sealed block is provided with an opening tab for the inner pack and with a closure label for actuating the opening tab. The closure label is fixed on the inner side of a lid front wall by means of an actuating tab and is movable with the lid into the opening position. Pressure members cause the closure label to be pressed with regions of glue onto the inner side of the lid front wall.

Cigarette package

A cigarette pack with an outer pack () in the embodiment as a hinge lid box and with an inner pack () as a sealed block is provided with an opening tab () for the inner pack () and with a closure label () for actuating the opening tab (). The closure label () is fixed on the inner side of a lid front wall () by means of an actuating tab () and is movable with the lid () into the opening position. Pressure members () cause the closure label () to be pressed with regions of glue onto the inner side of the lid front wall ().

For supplying machines, namely packaging machines, with web-like packaging material which is present in the form of a reel, a reel store () is fitted out with a portal (), in which the reels () are kept on pallets (). A portal robot () with an articulated arm () transfers reels () as required to winding subassemblies () arranged outside the portal (). From these winding subassemblies, the material webs are transported toward opposite sides, in the direction parallel to the longitudinal extent of the portal (), to the consuming machines.

Device for handling bobbins of packaging material

In the production of large packs (10) each comprising a pack group (11), in particular comprising cigarette packs (12), different-wrapper versions have to be taken into account. For this purpose, two folding turrets (21, 22) for different packaging material are provided, namely a folding turret (21) for cardboard blanks (13) and a folding turret (22) for blanks (20) made of paper or film. The two folding turrets (21, 22) are arranged one beside the other in horizontal alignment. Each folding turret (21, 22) is provided with four pockets which each run through three operating stations.

Apparatus for producing (large) packs

Process and apparatus for producing packs (10) with a wrapper (12) which is provided with glue locations in the region of folding tabs and walls. For the task of providing wrappers (12) for articles, in particular pack groups (29), consisting of paper or similar materials, folding tabs, closure tabs and walls are to be connected to one another by glue. The blanks for the wrapper (12) are severed from a continuous web (24). Glue locations, namely glue strips and glue patches, are applied onto the web (24) by a fixed glue unit (41) during a conveying movement. The glue used is a hot-melt material which hardens after being applied onto the web (24) and is activated by heat in the region of folding units, in particular of folding turrets (30), and in the region of a pack tower (36).

Process and apparatus for producing packs with an outer wrapper

Blanks (10) for hinge-lid packs are provided with glue in the form of glue spots (29). A plurality of rows of glue spots, namely spot rows (33 to 36), are distributed over the blank (10) in such a manner that the pack collar (84) and the inner wrapping (82) are sufficiently fixed, and that a lid inner tab (22) is permanently connected to a lid front wall (20). The glue spots (29) are applied by a gluing unit (37) which can be removed as a unit from the packaging machine and which is connected to a glue container via a main glue line (56).

Process and apparatus for the coating of glue onto a blank for hinge-lid

In the production of cigarette packs, glue assemblies (14) having glue nozzles (15) are increasingly used in order to provide with glue pack folding tabs to be adhesively bonded to one another. The glue assemblies (14) or glue nozzles (15) require careful maintenance. For this purpose, the packaging machine is equipped with a maintenance station (16) which allows the necessary manipulations on the glue assemblies (14) in a position convenient for tending purposes. The maintenance station (16) or a holding device (17) is designed in such a way that glue assemblies (14) can be positioned alternatively in a testing position and in a cleaning position.

Packaging machine for cigarette packs

Blanks (10) for hinge-lid packs are provided with glue in the form of glue spots (29a to 29i). A plurality of rows (33 to 36) of the glue spots are distributed over the blank (10) in such a manner that the pack collar (84) and the inner wrapping (82) are sufficiently fixed, and that a lid inner tab (22) is permanently connected to a lid front wall (20). The glue spots (29a to 29i) are applied by a gluing unit (37) which can be removed as a unit from the packaging machine and which is connected to a glue container via a main glue line (56).
