A neuromodulation system includes a conductive element, a magnetic field generator, a power module and a computer processor. The conductive element located internal a patient's body. At least a portion of the conductive element is positioned adjacent to a target tissue. The magnetic field generator is positioned external to the patient's body. The magnetic field generator generates a time varying magnetic field for inducing stimulation of the target tissue in combination with the conductive element to produce stimulation that is larger than that which would occur in the absence of the conductive element. The power module supplies power to the magnetic field generator. The computer processor controls the time varying magnetic field provided by the magnetic field generator according to at least one set of stimulation parameters.

Treatment of overactive bladder with phase-contingent pudendal nerve stimulation

Gamification for a pelvic disorder regimen has a processor for operating a control module configured to define a programmable treatment regimen. A neurostimulator is connected to the processor and the control module. The neurostimulator applies electrical or magnetic signals to the user according to the programmable treatment regimen which includes at least one treatment task to be performed by the user. A gramification module calculates and stores a set of scores of the user in performing at least one task defined in the programmable treatment program associated with one or more events defined in the programmable treatment program to provide a score assigned to each task performance. A user interface is connected to the control module and provides the user with information associated with the scores attained by the user.

System for improving neurostimulation treatment compliance with gamification

An intravascular catheter for nerve activity ablation and/or sensing includes one or more needles advanced through supported guide tubes (needle guiding elements) which expand to contact the interior surface of the wall of the renal artery or other vessel of a human body allowing the needles to be advanced though the vessel wall into the extra-luminal tissue including the media, adventitia and periadvential space. The catheter also includes structures which provide radial and lateral support to the guide tubes so that the guide tubes open uniformly and maintain their position against the interior surface of the vessel wall as the sharpened needles are advanced to penetrate into the vessel wall. Electrodes near the distal ends of the needles allow sensing of nerve activity before and after attempted renal denervation. In a combination embodiment ablative energy or fluid is delivered from the needles in or near the adventitia to ablate nerves outside of the media while sparing nerves within the media.

Apparatus for effective ablation and nerve sensing associated with denervation

A method of treating a patient having overactive bladder symptoms by a combination of stimulation of the patient's saphenous nerve and the patient's posterior tibial nerve. The method uses a neurostimulator having a computer processor and a signal generator which generates a first stimulation signal which is used to target the patient's saphenous nerve and a second stimulation signal which is used to target the posterior tibial nerve of the patient in accordance with a treatment protocol. The neurostimulator sends the first and second electrical stimulation signals to respective stimulators which then transmit the respective electrical stimulation signals to the patient's saphenous nerve and the patient's posterior tibial nerve in accordance with the stimulation protocol. The first and second stimulators are positioned in locations on the body of the patient to effectively modulate the patient's saphenous nerve and posterior tibial nerve respectively.

Electrical neurostimulation treatment of overactive bladder

A system to configure a neurostimulation signal to a patient's body has a neurostimulator to create a base stimulation signal which has a series of first pulses. A computer processor within the neurostimulator deconstructs the first series of pulses into a first and second partial pulse series which have respective first and second partial electrical pulses where the first and second partial electrical pulses substantially summate to the base stimulation signal. A programmable signal generator provides a constant amplitude of combined stimulation pulses by applying the first and second partial pulses to a number of contacts of an electrode positionally located to stimulate a target tissue in the patient's body.

A neurostimulation treatment method for decreasing an unwanted symptom of a person's headache. A set of transcutaneous electrodes are positioned to be in contact to the skin surface of the person's body. A computer processor controls an electrical signal generator based upon a stimulation protocol designed to treat the unwanted symptom of the headache and generates a modulated stimulation signal. The signal generator is controlled to generate a modulated stimulation signal as a high frequency carrier signal having a roving high in a first high frequency range between 80 Hz and 200 Hz. The high frequency is adjusted to rove between a first roving frequence and a second roving frequency according to the stimulation protocol to transmit the modulated stimulation signal to the transcutaneous electrodes which transmit the modulated stimulation signal for treatment of the person.

Transcutaneous electrical stimulation treatment of headache

Systems and methods for providing curated neurostimulation are disclosed such that users are enabled to provide improved therapy in a home environment. Stimulation protocols can be assessed to provide improved targeted stimulation of a nerve and less unwanted side effects. Sets of stimulation montages and associated weights are defined and are selected or adjusted in pre-defined using pre-defined operations that simplify adjustment of characteristics of the stimulation field such as the geometry and location of the provided stimulation. Stimulation matrix pads are arranged and activated to provide advantages. Strategies for adjusting the intensity of the stimulation field incorporate weighting values in non-primary channels and are disclosed. Curated neurostimulation can also include providing defined schedules for events and activities related to the therapy such as providing schedules for stimulation treatment, surveying a user, providing education and remote user support. Features related to decreasing and managing risk of skin events are included as part of the therapy. Both wearable and implanted embodiments are disclosed.

Stimulation treatment of medical disorders use stimulation parameters that provide stimulation of a target site directly or create partial stimulation signals that combine into vector signals that stimulate a target site. Stimulation signals have characteristics such as frequency, timing, temporal content that is adjusted for the person being treated. Signals are designed with advantageous characteristics to influence target tissue in an intended manner and avoid producing unwanted side-effects. Stimulation signals are designed to match or avoid internal/endogenous activity (e.g., brain patterns and rhythms) of a patient. Methods for choosing, creating and partial signals are disclosed. Tissue modulation may be accomplished with electrical and/or magnetic stimulation, such as repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation.

Stimulation treatments for various medical disorders, such as neurological disorders, comprise novel systems, strategies, and methods for providing TMS, electrical, magnetic, optical and other stimulation modalities. Some stimulation methods comprise varying the stimulation parameters to improve the therapeutic efficacy of stimulation, and decrease risk of habituation and side-effects such as interference with normal brain, sensory, motor, and cognitive processes. A computer processor controls an electrical signal generator in accordance with a stimulation protocol. An electrical signal generator generates a modulated stimulation signal as a high frequency signal in a high frequency range within the range of 80 Hz-200 Hz. The high frequency is adjusted to rove between a first roving frequency and a second roving frequency within the high frequency range of the high frequency carrier signal according to the stimulation protocol for transmitting the high frequency carrier signal to the set of two transcutaneous electrodes for treatment of the person.
