A silicone-polyacrylate copolymer has the formula X[ZY], where each X is an independently selected silicone moiety having a particular structure, each Y is an independently selected polyacrylate moiety, each Z is an independently selected siloxane moiety, subscript c is from 1 to 150, subscript g is >1, 0≤j<2, and 0<o<2, with the proviso that j+o=2 in each moiety indicated by subscript c. Methods of preparing the silicone-polyacrylate copolymer are also disclosed. Further, a sealant is disclosed, the sealant comprising the silicone-polyacrylate copolymer and a condensation-reaction catalyst.

A composition contains a silylated polysaccharide, where the silylated polysaccharide is characterized by: (a) having linked fructose, galactose, anhydrogalactose, or glucose saccharide units provided that glycosidic linkages of glucose are alpha linkages and that the silylated polysaccharide is other than a silylated starch; and (b) on average 1 to 100 mole-percent of the hydroxyl groups on the polysaccharide have been silylated with a silyl group having the structure —SiRlinked to the polysaccharide through a C—O—Si bond where each R is independently selected from hydrocarbyl radicals having from one to 12 carbon atoms, provided that on average at least one R per polysaccharide has a terminally unsaturated carbon-carbon double bond.

A method of preparing an alkoxy-functional organosilicon compound is provided. The method comprises reacting (A) an initial organosilicon compound and (B) an alcohol component in the presence of (C) a catalyst, thereby preparing the alkoxy-functional organosilicon compound. The initial organosilicon compound (A) comprises at least one alkoxysilyl group. The alcohol component (B) comprises an organic alcohol. The catalyst (C) comprises (C1) an ammonium carboxylate compound or (C2) a titanate compound. A reaction product comprising an alkoxy-functional organosilicon compound prepared in accordance with the method, and a composition comprising the reaction product, are also provided. The alkoxy-functional organosilicon compound, and the reaction product and composition comprising the same, are prepared in increased purity under functional group-tolerant conditions.

A silicon glycan is provided. The silicon glycan comprises a glycoside moiety, independently selected organosilicon moieties, and beta-amino alcohol moieties joining the organosilicon moieties to the glycoside moiety. This functional group has the chemical formula: &#x2014;(R&#x2014;NH)R&#x2014;N(R)&#x2014;CH(&#x2014;COOH)(&#x2014;R&#x2014;C(&#x2550;O)&#x2014;NR) (I). In Formula (I), R is a C-Chydrocarbon group. Ris a C-Chydrocarbon group. Ris a hydrogen atom, a C-Chydrocarbon group, or a phenyl group. Ris a C-Chydrocarbon group. Each Ris independently a hydrogen atom, a C-Chydrocarbon group, a C-Chydroxyl-hydrocarbon group, or a phenyl group. Moreover, 'a' is 0 or 1, such that (R&#x2014;NH) is optional. The aminosiloxane polymer can be formed using the method of this disclosure and can be formed in, and/or included in, the emulsion of this disclosure.

Various embodiments disclosed relate to method of forming organosilicon products. In various embodiments, the present invention provides a method of forming an organosilicon product that can include contacting a first side of a silicone membrane with a nonvolatile liquid reactant. The method can include contacting a second side of the membrane with a gaseous reactant. The contacting can be sufficient to react the gaseous reactant with the liquid reactant to form an organosilicon product on the first side of the silicone membrane. The silicone membrane can be substantially impermeable to the liquid reactant and substantially permeable to the gaseous reactant.

Organosiloxanes containing ester derivatives of ascorbic acid are disclosed having the formula (RiSiO)11Ro-Ii)Si&#x2014;X-A wherein R is an alkyl group containing 1 to 6 carbon atoms, n is 1 to 3 inclusive, X is a divalent organic linking group, A is an ester derivative of ascorbic acid. A method of making an organosiloxane containing ester derivatives of ascorbic acid and the products prepared according to the method arc also taught. Silicone liquid crystals, silicone vesicles, and silicone gels are formed by combining (i) an amine functional silicone or an organic amine compound, (ii) an organic epoxide containing at least two epoxy groups or an epoxy functional silicone containing at least two epoxy groups, and (iii) a fluid such as water, a silicone fluid other than a silicone used in (i) and (ii), and a polar organic compound or nonpolar organic compound other than organic compounds used in (i) and (ii) in which the polar and nonpolar organic compound are present at a concentration to provide a level of solids less than 40 percent by weight based on the weight of (i)-(iii).
