Disclosed herein is a system and method that that allows device administrators to set disk quotas for each share of a server. Quotas are set and enforced per share. The quota specifies the total disk space the share may consume on the device. When a share reaches or exceeds the set quota the share can no longer be written to.

Consumer share quota feature

A system for monitoring railroad cars comprising a hatch cover assembly including a cover body, a sensor, a wireless transmitter for transmitting data received from the sensor, a wireless receiver for receiving the data from the wireless transmitter, and a satellite transmitter for transmitting the data to a satellite. The wireless receiver and the satellite transmitter are attached to the hatch cover assembly. In one embodiment, the sensor is a pressure sensor having a sensing unit situated in the plenum of a vented hatch cover. In another embodiment, the sensor is an air flow sensor having a sensing unit situated in the plenum of a vented hatch cover. In another embodiment, the sensor is a chain tension sensor attached to a handbrake chain. In another embodiment, the sensor is a hatch cover position attached to the hatch cover assembly.

System for monitoring railroad cars

A vented hatch cover comprising a cover body, an intake filter element, and a discharge filter element includes a plurality of walls defining an air intake passage, and an air discharge passage, an inner rim and an outer rim with a plurality of ribs extending across the air intake passage. The intake filter element includes a plurality of latches engaging the ribs. The discharge filter element includes an outer disc portion with a radially outer edge having a rim with a plurality of latches that releasably secure the discharge filter element to the inner rim of the cover body.

Vented hatch cover

A system to remotely report the load condition of a railroad car including a mechanism to sense the load condition in the form of a switch responsive to load condition to change the state of an electrical circuit, a controller to recognize the state of the circuit and a radio wave transmitter directed by the controller to report the condition to a remote receiver. Load is sensed by recognition of the distance between two components of the car, one which remains relatively fixed regardless of the weight of the car, the other which moves relative to the first component as the car weight changes.

Load sensing arrangement

A clamp assembly for connecting the end of a first pipe to the end of an axially aligned second pipe. The clamp assembly comprises a first semi-circular clamp arm, a second semi-circular clamp arm, a lever and a latch. The first clamp arm has a first end portion and a second end portion. The second clamp arm has a first end portion and a second end portion. The first end portion of the second clamp arm is pivotably attached to the first end portion of the first clamp arm. The lever is pivotably attached to the first end portion of the first clamp arm. The latch has a first end portion and a second end portion. The first end portion of the latch is pivotably attached the second end portion of the second clamp arm. The second end portion of the latch is attached to the lever upon the clamp assembly in a closed position. The distance between the attachment of the latch to the second clamp arm to the attachment of the latch to the lever is adjustable in the attachment of the latch to the second clamp arm.

Clamp assembly

A clamp assembly for connecting the end of a first pipe to the end of an axially aligned second pipe. The clamp assembly comprises a first semi-circular clamp arm, a second semi-circular clamp arm, a lever, a latch and a gasket. The first clamp arm has a first end portion and a second end portion. The second clamp arm has a first end portion and a second end portion. The first end portion of the second clamp arm is pivotably attached to the first end portion of the first clamp arm. The lever is pivotably attached to the second portion of the first clamp arm. The latch has a first end portion and a second end portion. The first end portion of the latch is pivotably attached the second end portion of the second clamp arm. The second end portion of the latch is attached to the lever upon the clamp assembly in a closed position. The first clamp arm defines a groove for seating the gasket. The second clamp arm defines a groove for seating the gasket. The gasket is secured to the first end portions of the first and second clamp arms upon the clamp assembly in an opened position. The gasket is unsecured to the second end portions of the first and second clamp arms upon the clamp assembly in the opened position.

Featured is a method or process for reducing contention of a highly contended software lock(s) that is protecting multiple data items, where the software has a plurality of code paths accessing the data items. The method includes creating additional partition locks to protect subsets of the data items protected by the existing global lock. Such a method further includes acquiring all partition locks and the global lock, wherever a global lock would have been acquired to protect data. The method also includes identifying one or more heavily used code paths and determining which data items are touched by the identified one or more heavily used code paths. These data items are then moved into a partition, if they were not partitioned earlier. The locking requirements for each of the identified one or more heavily used code paths are optimized to match the reduced locking requirements because of the partitioned data items. In other words the locking requirements are reduced so only the locks for the partitions including the data items that touch the code path are acquired. In more specific embodiments, the so-modified software is evaluated to determine if there is an acceptable increase in overall system performance resulting from the optimization of the locking requirements. If the modified system's performance is not acceptable, then the next most heavily used code path is identified and the locking requirements for this code path are optimized. Such optimization is continued until the system exhibits an acceptable overall system performance or all code paths are optimized.

Method of reducing contention of a highly contended lock protecting multiple data items

A hopper tee mounting assembly capable of accommodating a valve member within the hopper tee mounting assembly. The hopper tee mounting assembly comprises an upper plate having a plurality of upwardly extending bolts, a lower plate having a plurality of downwardly extending bolts, a hinge assembly allowing the upper plate and the lower plate to pivot relative to each other, and a latch assembly to latch the upper plate together with the lower plate.

Hopper tee mounting assembly

A hopper tee mounting assembly adapted to retain a valve member situated between a circular flange and a hopper tee. The hopper tee mounting assembly comprises an upper mounting assembly separate from the circular flange and a hinge assembly. The upper mounting assembly has a flat surface adapted for abutment with the circular flange. The hinge assembly is attached to the upper mounting assembly. The hinge assembly allows the hopper tee to pivot relative to the upper mounting assembly.

A deflector assembly located within the interior of a trailer for distributing dry bulk during loading of the dry bulk into the interior of the trailer. The deflector assembly comprises a deflector and an air cylinder. The deflector has a deflecting surface capable of deflecting the dry bulk being loaded into the interior of the trailer. The deflector moves from an opened position to a deflecting position upon a flow of compressed air from an air source to the air cylinder.

Load distribution deflector

An improved method and apparatus for providing access between the processors and the mass storage devices of a computer system wherein an interprocessor bus interconnects the processors and adapters are connected from the interprocessor bus for communication between the processors and the mass storage devices and the system includes binding utility for communicating with the processors and the adapters to generate pairings between the processors and the adapters. A switch is connected between the adapters and the mass storage devices for connecting each adapter to each mass storage device and a binding mapper operates with the binding utility at each binding of a processor/adapter pair to enumerate the mass storage devices with which a processor/adapter pair is to communicate and determines a mass storage identifier by which the processor identifies the mass storage device. An address mapper references the binding mapper to construct and store an address map having processor set for each mass storage device. Each processor set includes an address map entry for each processor and is indexed by processor number. Each entry contains the mass storage device identifier corresponding to the optimal path of access to the corresponding mass storage device. The address mapper responds to each request for access to a mass storage device by providing the corresponding address map entry and the processor completes the access by directing the request through its paired disk device adapter as determined by the returned address map entry.

Method and apparatus for multiple disk drive access in a multi-processor/multi-disk drive system

A deflector assembly located within the interior of a trailer for distributing dry bulk during loading of the dry bulk into the interior of the trailer. The deflector assembly comprises a deflector having a deflecting surface. The deflector has an opened position and a deflecting position, wherein the deflecting surface is not situated to deflect the dry bulk when the deflector is in the opened position and the deflecting surface is situated to deflect the dry bulk when the deflector is in the deflecting position.

A manway cover assembly to cover an opening of a tank car, defined by an upstanding manway nozzle. The manway cover assembly comprises a manway cover housing, a safety vent and a manway nozzle gasket. The safety vent includes a body mounted on the manway cover housing. The safety vent further includes a surge protector and a rupture disk. The rupture disk is designed to open at a known pressure and allow controlled venting of the pressure in the car. The manway cover housing defines a bore which contains the surge protector of the safety vent. The manway cover housing includes a tube extending downwardly and surrounding the surge protector.
