A lockable media storage box includes a base and a lid connected to the base with at least one hinge. The base and lid include elements that cooperate with a lock to allow the lid to be locked in the closed position. In one embodiment, the lock is received in the concave opening disposed at the front of the storage container. The lock may be unlocked with a special key or may be unlocked by destroying portions of the lock that are designed to be destroyed. In another embodiment of the invention, a sliding lock is carried by the container. The sliding lock may be carried inside the container or on the front wall of the container.

Security storage container

A media storage container has a latch that is movable between latched, unlatched, and storage positions. The latch is disposed inside the outer periphery of the container when the latch is in the storage position. A method of using the container includes the steps of moving the latch to the storage position for shipping the container and moving the latch from the storage position to the open position while the container is loaded with media.

A lockable media storage box and lock and key combination includes a box having a base and a lid hingedly connected to the base and movable between opened and closed positions. A locking mechanism is movable between locked and unlocked positions to lock and unlock the container. The lock includes lock pins that slide through aligned lock holes in the base and the lid.

A media storage container includes a back wall with base and lid pages hingedly connected to the back wall. The base page has a hub to hold a first item of recorded media. An internal page is connected to the hinge wall and has a hub on one surface thereof to hold a second item of recorded media and a hub on the other surface thereof to hold a third item of recorded media. The hub on the internal page facing the base page is offset from the base page hub so that each hub helps hold discs on the facing page. Likewise, the hubs on opposite sides of the internal page are offset for the same purpose where additional internal pages are included.

Storage container for recorded media

A display system for displaying an item of merchandise in a retail environment that allows a potential customer to handle the item while it is secured to the display system. The item is supported on a display shelf and is connected to a retractable cable. The shelf is locked to a base by an alarm unit. Unauthorized removal of the shelf, base, item of merchandise, severing of the retractable cable or alarm unit will activate an alarm. First and second locks lock the alarm unit to the base.

Alarming merchandise display system

A security device locks to a display structure such as a pegboard or slatboard to prevent the rapid removal of merchandise from the display structure by preventing the rapid removal of the entire security device. The security device includes a base and a rod with the base having locked and unlocked positions. The unlocked position of the base allows the security device to be removed from the display structure. The locked position of the base prevents the security device from being removed. The security device includes a lock that holds the base in the locked position. A key may be used to unlock the base. Customers may remove items of merchandise from the security device while the lock and base are in their locked positions.

A storage container for a disc-shaped item of recorded media includes a base and a lid that is hingedly connected to the base and moveable between open and closed positions. The lid does not cover the entire surface area of the base when the lid is closed. The areas that are not covered are holding tabs that allow the base to be easily held by one hand while the other hand opens the lid and removes the disc. The base includes a hub that has a low overall height that reduces the overall thickness of the storage container.

A literature clip for a media storage container holds thin and thick booklets. In one embodiment, the invention provides a clip that has a first position for thin booklets and a second position for thick booklets. In both of these positions, the clip is resilient to hold booklets of different thicknesses.

A lock is attached to the box that prevents the box from being opened until the lock is removed with a key or until the lock is destroyed.

A bottle security device includes an inner member and an outer member that cooperate to lock the bottle security device on the neck of a bottle. The inner member includes a plurality of fingers that are adapted to fit under the bead on a bottle neck. The inner member further includes outwardly extending teeth. The outer sleeve member of the device slides over the inner member and forces the fingers against the bottle. The outer sleeve member further includes a plurality of upwardly extending arms that have inwardly projecting teeth that engage the teeth of the inner member to lock the two members together. A key is used to separate the two pieces and release the security device from the bottle. The key extends down through the top of the outer sleeve member to physically engage the upwardly extending arms and to move them radially outward to where they disengage the inner member.
