A peripheral device workspace cloud orchestrator information handling system comprises a network interface device to receive functional capabilities for an existing peripheral device previously operatively coupled by a user to a user information handling system anchor node for a peripheral device workspace defined by a manifest of included peripheral device nodes, location, and peripheral device workspace identification value, and a user composite peripheral device workspace identifier associated with an adjustable operational configuration instructing the existing peripheral device operation, a hardware processor to execute code instructions to identify new peripheral device capabilities within a received new device orchestrated device descriptor for a new peripheral device operatively coupled to the anchor node, determine a minimum percentage of the new peripheral device capabilities matches the existing functional capabilities, and instruct the anchor node to configure the new peripheral device according to the adjustable operational configuration associated with the existing peripheral device.

System and method for determining peripheral device configurations across a plurality of workspaces for seamless user peripheral device workspace ecosystem experience

Techniques for secure peripheral management are described. One example method includes detecting that a peripheral device has been connected to the computer system; sending, via a network, a verification request for the peripheral device to a management server identified by a network address stored in a firmware of the peripheral device, wherein the verification request is encrypted based on credentials associated with the peripheral device; receiving, via the network, a verification response from the management server including a policy associated with the peripheral device; determining that the verification response is authentic based on the credentials stored in the firmware of the peripheral device; and in response, operating the peripheral device according to the received policy.

Systems and methods for managing workspaces using productivity profiles are described. In an embodiment, an Information Handling System (IHS) may include a processor and a memory coupled to the processor, the memory having program instructions stored thereon that, upon execution, cause the IHS to: send a user's productivity profile to a remote service, where the productivity profile is created based, at least in part, upon a utilization of a peripheral device when the IHS is deployed in a first workspace; and receive, from the remote service, a recommendation to deploy the IHS in a selected workspace, where the recommendation is produced based, at least in part, upon a comparison between the user's productivity profile and a set of capabilities of the selected workspace.

An illustrative, non-limiting method for resolving Region-On-Interest (ROI) overlaps includes receiving Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) data obtained by a plurality of co-located Head-Mounted Devices (HMD), where the SLAM data comprises a plurality of landmarks and each HMD has an Information Handling System (IHS) in communication therewith. Each IHS may produce a subset of the plurality of landmarks based upon a respective HMD's SLAM data, and each IHS is: local with respect to the plurality of HMDs, at an edge of a network serving an HMD, or on a cloud. The method may include identifying an overlap between a first landmark produced by a first IHS and a second landmark produced by a second IHS, selecting between the first and second landmarks, at least in part, based upon the locations of the first and second IHSs, and rendering a map for display by a given HMD using the selected landmark.

A system and method for predicting remaining battery life for a portable information handling systems include determining power consumption for an OLED display based on an on pixel ratio (OPR) for each pixel. When a user starts a session of an application and a file, file metadata may be used to search a database storing OPR profiles, with each OPR profile including one or more time series associated with one or more instances of the application executing the file. For static files, a time series in an OPR profile may be used to predict power consumption and calculate battery life. For dynamic files, periodically measuring OPR data may be used to predict power consumption. For some dynamic files, historic OPR values and periodic measurements may be used to predict power consumption. The user may be provided with a list of files usable during the calculated battery life.

Systems and methods are provided for consolidation of IHS (Information Handling System) VPN (Virtual Private Network) resources utilized by workspaces operating on the IHS, where the workspaces operate in isolation from the operating system of the IHS. A remote workspace orchestration service manages deployment of workspaces on the IHS. The workspaces are instantiated and operate according to a workspace definition provided by the workspace orchestration service. An embedded controller of the IHS registers a VPN consolidation function of the IHS with the workspace orchestration service, which notifies the workspaces of the VPN consolidation function. A VPN workspace is instantiated that operates according to a workspace definition provided by the workspace orchestration service. The respective workspace definitions of the workspaces are updated to route VPN communications to the VPN workspace. Based on the updated workspace definitions, the VPN communications in each of the workspaces are redirected to the VPN consolidation function.
