A system and method for defining the zoom response, or behavior, of a display object independently of other display objects performs a selective zoom response to a zoom level. Selective zoom response provides each display object individual zoom response logic to determine the manner of display at given zoom levels. Accordingly, display object behavior is definable on a per object basis. The zoom function triggers particular operations at a given zoom level for modifying attributes of a display object that affect the visual appearance, thus modifying the zoom behavior of the display object. Since each display object has a different zoom response logic, different display objects respond independently to a particular zoom level as appropriate for the display object. Therefore, the zoom response is object specific since each display object has its own set of attributes and zoom logic affecting those attributes.

Selective zoom response behavior in computing systems

System and methods for selective zoom response behavior

To create a thumbnail version of an image associated with respective content (e.g., a web page), a computer process herein receives an identification of content formatted according to a first format. Based on the identification of the content to be converted into a thumbnail, the computer invokes a first service to utilize the content formatted according to the first format (e.g., HTML) and produce a rendition of the content according to a second format (e.g., a PDF format). The computer then invokes a second service to produce a rendition of the content according to a third format based on the rendition of the content according to the second format. The format of the thumbnail has a lower resolution compared to a respective imaging resolution associated with the PDF format to reduce network resources required to transfer the thumbnail rendition of the content to other users in a collaborative whiteboard session.

Methods and apparatus to reformat and distribute content

A system provides interaction between graphical objects and a managing application by detecting that movement of a first graphical object relative to a second graphical object on the graphical user interface is within a spatial proximity. In response to the detection of movement, the system notifies the first graphical object of presence information related to the second graphical object. The presence information includes at least an identity of the second graphical object. The system forms an association between the first graphical object and the second graphical object based on the presence information, and then graphically alters a representation of at least one of the first graphical object and the second graphical object on the graphical user interface in response to the formation of the association with each other.

Methods and apparatus for graphical object interaction and negotiation

An operating system font is created from a printer metrics file. The printer metrics file includes at least one set of font metrics. Each set of font metrics represents one font. The printer metrics file is opened and the font metrics are read. A system font is created from each set of font metrics. The system font is created by applying the font metrics to a font template. The font template with the applied font metrics is saved as a system font. The system font is then installed and registered with the operating system. A name of the operating system font is recorded with a printer driver associated with the printer metrics file.
