A fluid pump for a motor vehicle includes a pump wheel which is co-rotatably connected with a driving device via a rotor shaft, and a shaft bearing system for the rotor shaft. The shaft bearing system includes a bearing receptacle having a support flange, and a first and a second ball bearing. The first and the second ball bearing are each fixed to a radial outside of the rotor shaft, are each axially shiftable within the static bearing receptacle, and are positioned at opposite axial sides of the support flange. An outer race of the first ball bearing contacts the support flange. An outer race of the second ball bearing is axially preloaded away from the support flange via a preload spring. The first and the second ball bearing are each radially supported within the static bearing receptacle only by an elastic support ring which radially surrounds the outer races.

Fluid pump for a motor vehicle

A vacuum pump for pumping a gas includes a pump housing which defines a pump cavity, a shiftable vane, a pump rotor body, a separate axial rotor retaining arrangement, and a radial friction bearing. The pump housing includes a closed housing wall. The pump rotor body includes a vane slit which supports the shiftable vane to define rotating pumping chambers, an axial low-pressure end which is axially supported by the closed housing wall so that a gas pressure inside the pumping chambers is present at the low-pressure end, and an axial high-pressure end. The pump housing is fluidically open at the axial high-pressure end so that atmospheric pressure is present. The axial rotor retaining arrangement includes a retaining sheet body arranged in a transversal plane which axially in part blocks the axial high-pressure end. The radial friction bearing is arranged axially between the vane slit and the axial high-pressure end.

Automotive vacuum pump

A vacuum pump includes a pump rotor comprising a rotor body, a housing arrangement, a slidable pump vane, and a backing support cone structure. The rotor body comprises a vane slit, a conical ring, a coupling-sided end portion, and a vane-sided end portion. The housing arrangement comprises a static conical ring corresponding to the conical ring. The slidable pump vane is supported in the vane slit. The backing support cone structure is arranged at a front end of the vane-sided end portion and is defined by the conical ring of the rotor body and the static conical ring of the housing arrangement. A coupling structure and a single radial bearing are each arranged at the coupling-sided end portion of the rotor body and a radial bearing is not arranged at the vane-sided end portion of the rotor body so that the rotor body is radially supported cantilevered.

Mechanical automotive vacuum pump with cantilevered rotor

A side channel pump having a housing, a pump mechanism including an impeller in the housing to pump liquid from an inlet of the pump to an outlet of the pump, and first and second end cover members on opposite sides of the impeller, at least one of the cover members having a side channel therein for flow of the liquid from the inlet to the outlet. The cover member is made as an assembly of a ceramic body and a plastic unit. The ceramic body has a slot therein into which the plastic inlet is fitted. The plastic unit has an open channel facing the impeller to form the side channel of the pump and the side channel tapers in cross-section from the inlet to the outlet.
