A diverter assembly includes a tubing segment and one or more sleeve members disposed therein. The tubing segment includes apertures that are selectively alignable with apertures of an inner sleeve disposed within the tubing segment. The tubing segment includes a series of stops (e.g., shear pins) to arrest movement of the first sleeve within the bore of the tubing segment. A first one or more ball seats are included in the first sleeve such that deployment of a first ball and pressurization of the well above the first ball causes a first set of shear pins to fail, thereby allowing the first sleeve to slide downhole to cause apertures of the sleeve to align with apertures of the tubing segment, thereby causing fluid to flow to an annulus between the tubing segment and wellbore wall.

Top-down squeeze system and method

The invention presents a method for plugging and abandoning spent wells. An expandable liner hanger having sealing elements positioned thereon, is run-in and expanded, creating at least one seal against fluid migration. A redundant seal is created using a swellable annular sealing device, such as a swell packer. The swell packer and liner hanger are run-in and expanded. A bottom valve is closed and the expansion and running tools released from the liner hanger. After pulling out of the running tool, the wellbore is cemented creating an effective plug.

Abandonment and containment system for gas wells

A float system for use in cementing a casing in a wellbore. The wellbore is drilled with a drill bit attached to the casing. The drill bit is removed after the wellbore is drilled. The float system is lowered into the casing after the drill bit is removed. The float system includes a packer apparatus with a float apparatus, preferably a float shoe, attached to the end thereof. The packer apparatus is set in the casing to hold the float shoe in position. A bottom cementing plug is placed in the casing and is urged downwardly until it engages the upper end of the packer apparatus. The cement will flow through the packer apparatus and the float apparatus to fill the annulus between the casing and the wellbore.
