A composition and method of manufacture of Sodium Polyacrylate cross linked polymer containing compounds are described in the various embodiments below. The composition may form a gel like substance. The composition may exhibit beneficial properties to the suppression, or prevention, of a fire, such as adherence to surfaces, thereby smothering a fire, cooling the fuel of the fire, or cooling the potential fuel of a fire, thereby preventing the fire from initiating.

Fire suppression compositions and method of manufacture for suppression and prevention of fire

The present invention is a fire suppression apparatus for mitigating a battery fire and the effects of a thermal event within a battery pack. The system comprises a fire suppressant apparatus that is incorporated into the storage modules of the lithium ion batteries. Each storage module includes a container filled with a fire suppressant that is pressurized with a compressed gas.

Lithium ion battery suppression system

Disclosed is a cellular telephone recharging device which operates as a support bed for a cellular telephone during the recharging stage. The device includes a first pocket for retaining a fire extinguishing packet of super absorbent polymer capable of extinguishing a lithium battery fire. A second pocket is formed within the device for positioning of the cellular telephone over the fire extinguishing packet. Use of the device reduces or eliminates thermal meltdowns by positioning the fire suppressant directly adjacent to the most likely area for the thermal meltdown.
