Methods, systems, and apparatus for transporting workcells. In one aspect, a system includes a first fleet of AGVs that each include electro-mechanical interface that is adapted to (i) connect to or lift multiple different types of workcells and (ii) provide charging power to or receive charging power from multiple different types of workcells. A second fleet of multiple different types of workcells are each adapted to perform one or more particular tasks. A control system is configured to identify a set of tasks to be performed by the second fleet of workcells and, for each task, select a workcell to perform the task, select an AGV to transport the selected workcell to a location at which the task is to be performed, and provide, to the selected AGV, instructions that cause the selected AGV to transport the selected workcell to the location at which the task is to be performed.

Modular multifunctional workcells for autonomous guided vehicle applications

Improving the operations of a computer system that is located within a power grid and that is associated with its own power sources. Past operational characteristics of the power grid are analyzed to derive learned characteristics for the power grid. Future operational characteristics of the power grid are also monitored. A prediction regarding a future load event associated with the power grid is then generated using the learned characteristics and the monitored characteristics. In response to this prediction, one or more operations are performed to balance the computer system with the power grid during the future load event, and to ensure a determined availability of services associated with the computer system during the future load event.

Learning power grid characteristics to anticipate load

In an example, a server system is provided. The server system includes a frame including a support structure and a server supported by the support structure. The server system includes an actuator configured to cause the server to transition from a first position to a second position to increase exposure of the server to airflow to transfer heat away from the server via convection. The actuator is also configured to cause the server to transition from the second position to the first position to decrease exposure of the server to the airflow.

A system includes operation of a trained neural network to output a first signal indicative of one or more characteristics of a power signal based on an input plurality of power-related conditions data, determination of a first power supply mode based on the first signal, and control of a power supply to operate in the first power supply mode.

Power supply mode selection

A continuously growing physical structure may be generated by identifying a plurality of metrics associated with the physical structure. The plurality of metrics may include at least one of a shape of available physical space, a size of available physical space, a type of soil/earth of a location of the physical structure, a context of use of the physical structure, a climate of the location, or availability of resources associated with the location. The plurality of metrics may be analyzed to determine at least one of a rate of growth of the physical structure or a most suitable shape of the physical structure. Growth of the physical structure may then be generated according to at least one of the determined rate of growth of the physical structure or the determined most suitable shape of the physical structure. The identified plurality of metrics may then be monitored periodically.

Continuously growing physical structure

Improving the operations of a data center that is located within a power grid and that includes its own power sources. Past operational characteristics of the power grid are analyzed to derive learned characteristics for the power grid. Current and/or future operational characteristics of the power grid are also monitored. A prediction regarding an upcoming, anticipated load for the power grid is then generated using the learned characteristics and the monitored characteristics. In response to this prediction, one or more mitigation operations are selected and then performed at the data center to ensure that the data center is adequately available. Some of these mitigation operations include, but are not limited to, causing the data center to consume more power, causing the data center's power sources to store more power, or causing the data center to migrate services and/or data to a different data center.

Techniques of implementing automated secure disposal of hardware components in computing systems are disclosed herein. In one embodiment, a method includes receiving data representing a command instructing removal of a hardware component from a server in a datacenter upon verification. In response to receiving the maintenance command, the method includes autonomously navigating from a current location to the destination location corresponding to the server, verifying an identity of the hardware component at the destination location, and removing the hardware component from the server. The method further includes upon successful removal of the hardware component, generating and transmitting telemetry data indicating verification of the hardware component at the destination location and successful removal of the verified hardware component from the server.

Automated secure disposal of hardware components

A cooled electronics module (CEM) includes a cooling device and a server blade or other electronic device that is operationally enclosed in a container of the cooling device by a closure secured to a connection block. Each CEM is pluggable for electronic communication and coolant fluid flow. The connection block has electronics connectors to connect the contained electronic device, which is submerged in coolant, with external networks, power, and other infrastructure. CEMs may be installed in an initial deployment of electronic devices, or later to rapidly replace or supplement an operating electronic device. Installation may include placing the CEM on a rail which has coolant lines and electrical lines and connectors, putting coolant in the CEM before or after placement, and making connections for power, data signal, and coolant flow. CEMs may be constrained as to the number of motherboards or volume or thermal energy per CEM pool of coolant.

Cooling device for fluid submersion of electronics

A system includes a support member and a hard disk drive interface connector, where a first side of the hard disk drive interface connector is disposed on a first side of the support member and a second side of the hard disk drive interface connector disposed on a second side of the support member. A conduit is coupled to the support member and to a fluid inlet disposed on the first side of the support member. A fluid outlet is disposed on the first side of the support member, and a housing is coupled to the first side of the support member and defines a volume with the support member, where an interface between the housing and the first side of the support member is leak-resistant, and where the fluid inlet and fluid outlet are in fluid communication with the volume.

Hard disk drive backplane for immersion-cooled circuit board

In an example, a cooling device is provided. The cooling device includes a connection block including a surface, an inlet passage, and an outlet passage. The cooling device includes a first membrane defining a first volume with a first opening at a first end thereof. The first membrane sealingly engages with the surface around the inlet passage. The cooling device includes a second membrane defining a second volume with a second opening at a second end thereof. The second membrane also defines a plurality of apertures and sealingly engages with the surface inside of the first membrane and around the outlet passage. The cooling device also includes a substrate arranged in the second membrane, is connected to the surface, and includes a heat-generating device. Coolant fluid flows into the first volume via the inlet passage, through the plurality of apertures into the second volume, and exits via the outlet passage.
