A rotor assembly includes a plurality of wheels and a tie bolt that extends through the plurality of wheels and applies a compressive force to the plurality of wheels. The tie bolt includes a first segment with a first stiffness and a second segment with a second stiffness to allow for thermal growth of the plurality of wheels.

A retaining collar is disclosed for a bayonet mount comprising a rotor disc having a male mounting member defining a pair of apertures and an auxiliary annular wheel defining a plurality of mounting slots. The retaining collar comprises a ring-shaped body and a pair of retention pins. The ring-shaped body has a pair of circumferential end portions separated by a circumferential gap, and an arcuate radial outer surface extending circumferentially between the end portions. The body is dimensioned so that the radial outer surface frictionally engages a radial inner surface of a cylindrical male mounting member in the bayonet mount. The pair of retention pins each extend radially outward from one of the circumferential end portions. Each of the retention pins are dimensioned to extend radially outward from the body through one of said apertures and one of said mounting slots.

A cover plate for maintaining axial alignment between a blade assembly and a rotor disk and transferring centrifugal loading directly to the rotor disk. The cover plate comprises a plate key extending axially from an elongate member, the plate key configured to engage a keyway of the rotor disk assembly and/or a notch of the blade key.

Various embodiments of the present application provide one or more of: (1) auxiliary wheel that (a) enables accurate speed detection of a turbine disc and/or (b) presents a machining surface for balance correction; and/or (2) techniques for mounting an auxiliary wheel to a rotor, such as a turbine disc.

A labyrinth seal system comprises a knife element and a stator element, the knife element having a plurality of teeth radially extending from a base and the stator element having a radially inner surface configured to interact with the plurality of teeth to create a seal. The knife element is axially constrained by and rotationally coupled to a turbine component, but has a degree of freedom in the radial direction with respect to that component.

A rotor stack assembly and method of assembling same. The rotor stack assembly comprises a tie bolt, at least one rotor disk, and a stub shaft. The rotor disk and stub shaft are carried by the tie bolt. The stub shaft is threadably engaged with a threaded end of the tie bolt and comprises a rotatable seal member and an engagement surface for contacting the rotor disk. Engagement of the stub shaft with tie bolt allows for tensioning and pre-loading of the tie bolt to desired levels.

Further the present invention includes a method of volume measurement for an oil distribution nozzle that includes the steps of: integrating a measurement display into a Scully nozzle; providing a digital readout on the measurement display; placing the measurement display under a handle of the Scully nozzle; and measuring oil flow volume through the Scully nozzle.
