A containment berm having a flexible, substantially impermeable polymer material forming a ground section with a plurality of sidewalls extending upward from the ground section. A plurality of bracket assemblies are positioned on an external surface of the containment berm. Each of the bracket assemblies includes (i) a pair of first leg segments having first and second ends, the pair of first leg segments being joined by an end segment at their second ends; (ii) a pair of second leg segments having first and second ends, the pair of second leg segments being configured to allow relative movement between their second ends; and (iii) the pair of first leg segments and the pair of second leg segments being joined at their first ends in a substantially perpendicular configuration. One of either the pair of first or second of leg segments engages pockets on the sidewalls.

A method of packaging a radioactive waste including the steps of: (a) providing a containment enclosure having (i) an outer polymeric fabric layer and (ii) an inner polymeric fabric layer, wherein the outer and inner polymeric fabric layers are thermally stable to &#x2212;40&#xb0; F.; (b) placing a radioactive waste within the inner polymeric fabric layer; and (c) closing an outer closeable flap on the outer polymeric fabric layer.

Packaging system for radioactive waste

A self-standing container having four sidewall panels, a bottom panel, and openable top panel, wherein (i) all the panels are formed of a polymer material, and (ii) the top panel has a closure configured to close the top panel in relation to the sidewall panels. Each sidewall panel has a pocket panel attached thereto forming a pocket. A spring steel stiffener is positioned between each sidewall and pocket panel, with the spring steel stiffener forming a closed loop.

A containment berm formed of a flexible, substantially impermeable polymer material defining a ground section with a plurality of sidewalls extending upward from the ground section. A plurality of hinges are positioned on an interior of the containment berm, with the hinges having first and second aims rotating on a pin, the first arm engaging a first sleeve on one of either the ground section or a sidewall, and the second arm engaging a second sleeve on the other of the ground section or the sidewall. The second sleeve is configured to allow the hinge to slide far enough away from the first sleeve to allow the first arm to disengage from the first sleeve.

A non-self supporting containment bag used in conjunction with a dumpster container. The bag has a center opening that extends across the top of the bag, substantially centered on the top of the bag. The top of the bags is formed with sufficient spare material at the ends of the rectangular shaped bag to allow the top to be inverted over the sides of the container. The opening when closed, has sufficient material to form opposing triangular folds that extends above the top of the bag and the top of the container, when the bag is lining the container.

Containment bag for use in a commercial disposal container

A spill berm that includes a floor portion and a sidewall portion sealingly attached to the floor portion. The floor portion and the sidewall portion have an interior side that is constructed from a material that is impermeable to a desired fluid, and the said sidewall portion further includes a sleeve having a hollow interior and at least one open end. Inflatable removable air pillows are positioned partly in said interior of the sleeve, where the air pillow having an inflation valve e located on the air pillow near the open end of said sleeve, and the valve is attachable to a hose connected to the exhaust pipe of a diesel or gasoline engine.

A method for preparing low level radioactive hazardous wastes (LLHZ) for disposal in a landfill. The method includes providing a softsided transportable container at a hazardous debris collection site, where the softsided container has at least three layers of materials, an outer, middle and an inner layer, where the middle layer is a water impervious material. Each layer has a closable opening located on the top of the softsided layer. Hardsided closed containers containing LLHZ located in the interior of the hard container are loaded into the interior of the softsided container. Each layer of the softsided container is then closed, and the package transported and shipped to a disposal site for burial.

Storage and transportation method for low level radioactive mixed wastes

A lifting bag having at least one side wall and a closed bottom forming an interior, the bag further having a closable top portion connected to the sidewall and adapted to close the interior of the bag. The opening is a single slit centered on the bag top and closable with a zipper. The lifting bag includes a sling coupled to the bag, generally through a edge strip positioned at ore near the top edge of the bag. The bag can be constructed from a single multilayered sheet. The bag is used in conjunction with a lifting strap system.

A flexitank including a bladder and a series of straps positioned across the top of the bladder. The straps may be directly attached to the side or bottom of the flexitank, or may be encircling straps.

Flexitank design

A method of lifting a loaded bag with a coupled lifting sling. The bag has a top portion, a closed sidewall, a closed bottom portion, and an opening on the top portion. The method uses a lifting sling coupled to the bag, where the lifting sling is a series of straps that holds the bag. The bag has a series of strap retention devices attached near the bags top edge. The straps are movable vertically in the retention devices. The method includes the steps of loading the bag with a load to a load level, then lifting the lifting straps using a lifting device. The bag's surface above the load line slides down the coupled straps, as the straps are coupled but not attached to the bags above the load line.
