A refuse vehicle includes a chassis, an energy storage device supported by the chassis, a body assembly, and a power distribution unit. The energy storage device is configured to provide electrical power to a prime mover. Activation of the prime mover selectively drives the refuse vehicle. The body assembly is configured for storing refuse and is supported by the chassis. The power distribution unit is coupled to the energy storage device and is configured to control power transmission outward from the energy storage device. The body assembly includes a controller that communicates with the power distribution unit to adjust a flow of electrical power from the energy storage device to the body assembly.

A quint configuration fire apparatus includes a chassis, a body assembly coupled to the chassis and having a storage area configured to receive a ground ladder and a fire hose, a pump coupled to the chassis, a water tank coupled to the chassis, a ladder assembly having a proximal end that is coupled to the chassis, a single front axle coupled to a front end of the chassis, and a single rear axle coupled to a rear end of the chassis. The center of gravity of at least one of the chassis, the body assembly, the pump, and the water tank are positioned to counterbalance a moment generated by a tip load with the ladder assembly extended to the horizontal reach of at least 90 feet.

Quint configuration fire apparatus

A fire apparatus includes a chassis, a front axle coupled to the chassis, a rear axle coupled to the chassis, a torque box coupled to the chassis, a pedestal coupled to the torque box, a ladder assembly coupled to the pedestal, and a stability assembly. The torque box has a front end and a rear end. The pedestal is positioned between the front end and the rear end of the torque box. The stability assembly includes a housing coupled to the chassis and the front end of the torque box, a pair of outriggers received within the housing, and a downrigger coupled to the rear end of the torque box. The pair of outriggers is selectively extendable laterally outward in opposing directions. The downrigger is selectively extendable downward.

Fire apparatus

An electric vehicle system includes an electric vehicle and a delivery charger. The electric vehicle includes a chassis, a cab coupled to a front end of the chassis, and a battery supported by the chassis. The delivery charger includes a support, a power generator coupled to the support, a fuel tank coupled to the support and fluidly coupled to the power generator, and a mounting assembly coupled to the support. The power generator is configured to receive a fuel from the fuel tank and generate electricity to charge the battery. The mounting assembly is configured to facilitate releasably mounting the delivery charger at least one of (i) directly to the chassis, (ii) within a body assembly coupled to the chassis, or (iii) to a lift assembly coupled to the body assembly.

Delivery charger for electric vehicle

A refuse vehicle includes a chassis, an energy storage device supported by the chassis, a body assembly, and a power distribution unit. An ozone cleaning system includes a decontamination chamber, a utility chamber coupled to the decontamination chamber, and a utility assembly disposed within the utility chamber. The utility assembly is configured to decontaminate at least one of contaminated gear and contaminated equipment positioned in the decontamination chamber by treating organic carcinogens. The utility assembly includes an ozone generator configured to provide ozone to the decontamination chamber, a humidifying unit configured to provide humidity to the decontamination chamber, and a vacuum blower configured to at least one of (i) generate a vacuum within the decontamination chamber and (ii) pull the ozone from the decontamination chamber following a decontamination process.

Ozone cleaning system

An ozone cleaning system includes a first chamber, a second chamber coupled to the first chamber, and a utility assembly disposed within the second chamber. The utility assembly includes an ozone generator configured to provide ozone to the first chamber, a humidifying unit configured to provide water vapor to the first chamber, and a blower configured to at least one of (i) reduce air pressure within the first chamber or (ii) draw the ozone from the first chamber following a decontamination process.

A quint configuration fire apparatus includes a chassis, a body assembly coupled to the chassis and having a storage area configured to receive a ground ladder and a fire hose, a pump coupled to the chassis, a water tank coupled to the chassis, a ladder assembly including a plurality of extensible ladder sections, the ladder assembly having a proximal end that is coupled to the chassis, a single front axle coupled to a front end of the chassis, and a single rear axle coupled to a rear end of the chassis. The center of gravity of at least one of the chassis, the body assembly, the pump, and the water tank are positioned to counterbalance a moment generated by the tip load with the ladder assembly extended to the horizontal reach of at least 90 feet.

A quint configuration fire apparatus includes a ladder assembly and a single rear axle coupled to a chassis. The single rear axle includes either a single solid axle configuration extending laterally across the chassis or a first axle having a first constant velocity joint and a second axle having a second constant velocity joint. The ladder assembly is extensible to provide a horizontal reach of at least 90 feet and a vertical height of at least 95 feet and configured to support a tip load of at least 750 pounds. A water tank is configured to contain at least 500 gallons of water. The center of gravity of at least one of the chassis, a body assembly, a pump, and the water tank are positioned to counterbalance a moment generated by the tip load with the ladder assembly extended to the horizontal reach of at least 90 feet.

A quint configuration fire apparatus includes a chassis, a body assembly coupled to the chassis and having a storage area configured to receive a ground ladder and a fire hose, a pump coupled to the chassis, a water tank coupled to the chassis, a ladder assembly including a plurality of extensible ladder sections, the ladder assembly having a proximal end that is coupled to the chassis, and a single rear axle coupled to a rear end of the chassis. The ladder assembly is extensible to provide a horizontal reach of at least 100 feet and a vertical height of at least 105 feet.

A firefighting vehicle includes a chassis, a front wheel assembly coupled to the chassis and having at least one front wheel defining an axis of rotation that is substantially perpendicular to the chassis when in a straight position, an operator cab positioned at a front portion of the chassis, and an engine supported by the chassis. The operator cab has a floor section extending laterally between a driver seat and a passenger seat at a position forward of the axis of rotation, and the floor section is substantially flat. The engine is disposed under the operator cab and at least partially rearward of the axis of rotation.

Firefighting vehicle

A firefighting vehicle is disclosed that includes a chassis and a front wheel assembly coupled to the chassis. The front wheel assembly has at least one front wheel defining an axis of rotation that is substantially perpendicular to the chassis when in a straight position. The firefighting vehicle also includes an operator cab supported at a front portion of the chassis. The firefighting vehicle further includes an engine supported by the chassis. The engine is disposed under the operator cab and at least partially rearward of the axis of rotation.

An improved fire pump for a firefighting vehicle is provided. The fire pump is capable of being positioned at least partially under a rear portion of the cab of a firefighting vehicle. The pump includes a shaft, an impeller supported by the shaft, and a pump housing which encloses the impeller and supports the shaft for rotation about an axis. The housing includes a fluid inlet configured to direct a fluid into the housing along a path generally parallel to the axis. The housing also includes two fluid outlets each at a periphery of the impeller and configured to direct the fluid from the housing along respective paths generally perpendicular to the axis.
