A slurry dispensing system is disclosed. A peristaltic pump may direct a flow of slurry out of a horizontal mixer to a slurry dispenser. This slurry dispenser may be operated on a programmed manner by a controller to dispense slurry into a container. Both a bypass valve and a dispensing valve of the slurry dispenser may be opened/closed on a programmed basis by the controller to deliver slurry to a container, such as a glass column. Slurry may be intermittently directed into a metering chamber of the slurry dispenser, while the remainder of the slurry being directed into the slurry dispenser may be recirculated back to the horizontal mixer.

Slurry dispenser for radioisotope production

A horizontal mixer () is disclosed. Multiple blades () are affixed to and rotate with a tumbler () of the mixer (). These blades () extend within an interior mixing chamber () and are center-angled so as to promote a desirable mixing action within this chamber () (e.g. so as to fold a slurry within the chamber () onto itself). One characterization is that the blades () are oriented so as to direct a flow toward a common outlet region () within the tumbler () throughout at least a certain rotational angle. The mixer () is particularly suited for realizing a desirable homogeneity of particles within a slurry from which radioisotopes may be produced.

Horizontal mixer with center-angled blades

A slurry dispensing system () is disclosed. A peristaltic pump () may direct a flow of slurry out of a horizontal mixer () to a slurry dispenser (). This slurry dispenser () may be operated on a programmed manner by a controller () to dispense slurry into a container (). A radiopharmaceutical heater includes a heat-transfer member having a receptacle defined therein to receive a container (e.g., a vial). The heat-transfer member has a thermal conductivity greater than about 100 W/(mK) A radiation shield is disposed about the heat-transfer member wherein the radiation shield comprises lead, tungsten, tungsten-impregnated plastic, depleted uranium, or any combination thereof. A heating element is in thermal communication with the heat-transfer member wherein at least a portion of the heating element is located within the radiation shield. The heater includes compliant heat-transfer member shaped to receive the container.

Radiopharmaceutical heater

An aspect of the invention, is directed to a luer fitting. The luer fitting may include a male luer, a luer collar disposed about the male luer, and a fulcrum disposed at a base portion of a receptacle between the male luer and the luer collar. Another aspect of the invention, is directed to a breakage resistant fitting. The breakage resistant fitting may include a male portion having a central fluid passage, a supplemental securement portion generally concentric with the male portion, and an annular receptacle between the male portion and the supplemental securement portion. The annular receptacle may include a base region having a mating clearance interspace sized substantially greater than a mating female fitting in a radial direction, or an axial direction, or a combination thereof.
