The present invention relates to an apparatus designed to apply cleaning fluids to all types of surfaces and to apply those fluids to vertical, horizontal, angled, and overhead surfaces. The apparatus is designed so that it is able to glide easily over uneven or irregular surfaces. This is possible, in part, because the section of the washing apparatus that dispenses the cleaning fluid is kept in a spaced relationship to the surface being cleaned by the pressure of the cleaning fluid. The apparatus of the present invention includes a spraying unit, a support assembly and a bottom control unit. The spraying unit includes a housing, a swivel, and a spray bar having nozzles rotatably connected the housing. The support assembly includes an adjustable pole hingedly connected to the spraying unit at one end. The bottom control unit includes a base that is hingedly connected to the pole at its other end. At least one high pressure fluid line is connected to the spray bar.

The present invention relates to an apparatus for performing nonmanual tasks on and adjacent vertical or nearly vertical surfaces. The apparatus is designed so that a portion of the apparatus can traverse the vertical or nearly vertical surfaces of structures which may include obstacles such as window frames or gaps created by window seams, without coming into physical contact with those surfaces. The apparatus includes a top control unit, a vehicle for traversing the vertical or near vertical surfaces, and a bottom control unit. The vehicle is maintained in a near constant spaced relationship to vertical or nearly vertical surfaces by elongated flexible members that connect the vehicle to the top control unit and bottom control unit.

The present invention relates to a robotic apparatus for applying fluids to the exterior surfaces of vertical, nearly vertical, or sloped surfaces with minimum human supervision. The robotic apparatus is designed to apply fluids to surfaces which may include obstacles such as window frames or gaps created by window seams, which the present invention is designed to traverse. The robotic apparatus includes a housing, a drive assembly, a sliding vacuum assembly, a fluid spray assembly, and sensor and control systems. The drive assembly includes drive chains, cables, ropes or the like that are connected at one end to a carriage positioned on the top of the structure and to a stabilizing member or members at the other end.
