A bag includes a flexible web that is shaped into the shape of a bag and a communication member attached to the flexible web with an adhesive. When the communication member is removed from the web, substantially no adhesive remains on the web. An advertising medium includes a packaging material made of a first material and a communication member applied to the packaging material. The communication member has a first part that is positioned directly adjacent the packaging material and a second part positioned on the first part that is made of the same material or a different material as the first part. One or both of the first part and second part are removable from the packaging material without substantially marring the surface of the packaging material.

A method of applying a communication member carrying information to a packaging material includes feeding a packaging material in a first direction and applying a communication member to a surface of the packaging material with an adhesive. Both the communication member and the adhesive are simultaneously removable from the packaging material by a user such that substantially no adhesive residue remains on the bag upon communication member removal. A system for applying a communication member on a packaging material that is transported on a packaging material line includes a label applicator and a supply of communication members positioned in communication with the label applicator.

Advertising label

An ultra removable booklet with label for application to media is described. The booklet with label includes a release liner, an ultra removable adhesive layer, a paper stock layer, a booklet, an adhesive layer, and a clear plastic cover layer. The clear plastic cover layer has the adhesive layer applied to a bottom surface thereof and the bottom surface is positioned over the booklet. The booklet is positioned over the paper stock. The ultra removable adhesive layer is attached to the lower surface of the paper stock. The release liner is applied to the ultra removable adhesive layer. A process for forming an ultra removable booklet with label for application to media is also described.

A promotional card including a base card defining front and rear surfaces with at least one of the surfaces having indicia thereon and a token attached to at least one of the surfaces of the base card. In one example, the token is an informational booklet that is removably attached to the base card. An overlaminate is disposed over at least a portion of the informational booklet, the overlaminate includes at least one weakened region between the informational booklet and at least one of the top and bottom edges of the base card. The informational booklet is attached to at least one of the surfaces of the base card and contains at least one non-adhered edge and at least one adhered edge with the adhered edge being the leading edge for feeding the promotional card into a high speed processing machine that will feed the promotional card into a multi-page article.

An adhesive leaflet assembly is provided having a carrier web and a plurality of lengthwise oriented leaflet sub-assemblies releasably adhered on the web. The leaflet sub-assemblies have adhesive wing-like extensions that are oriented in a longitudinal direction relative to the carrier web. Longitudinal orientation of these wing-like extensions facilitates application of the leaflet sub-assemblies onto articles having a flat or planar surface in a high-speed continuous labeling operation. A method of providing a leaflet assembly, as well as a method for applying leaflet sub-assemblies are also provided.

A method for providing a microwave-shield on the cover member of a microwavable food tray having different foods therein requiring different degrees of microwave irradiation is provided. The method includes providing an adhesive label directly to a cover member of the food tray in register with one of the food products in the tray. The cover member is provided on the food tray from a sheet of cover material having a plurality of microwave shields pre-applied thereto at discrete intervals.

A system for drilling a horizontal bore through frangible material includes a barrel mechanism containing a automatically reciprocating piston mechanism for automatically delivering hammering blows to a bit for chipping away the frangible material, a fluid distributor for directing fluid to and exhausting pressurized fluid from the piston mechanism without exposing the wall of the bore being created to fluid pressure greater than ambient atmospheric pressure, a spline/flute arrangement for causing the bit to rotate with the barrel mechanism, a motor and swivel mounted on a driven platform mounted on a supporting frame for urging the bit against the frangible material and for supplying the pressurized fluid, a pushing mechanism for non-rotatingly and simultaneously installing casing joints as various components of the system is rotatingly drilling the bore, an augering arrangement for, in conjunction with the casing joints, removing the drilling debris, and drill/auger stem sections for extending the drilling and augering capability of the system as the drilling progresses.

Environmentally friendly horizontal boring system

A seal for a container is described for sealing a product viewing window. In one embodiment, an opening is formed in the lid of a container. A barrier layer of transparent film is adhesively secured to the inside of the window. An outer layer of transparent film is adhesively secured to the outside of the barrier layer and the inside of the window. A label having a window formed in its middle is adhesively secured to the outside of the window and to the outside of the outer layer of film. Variations of the seal are described as alternate embodiments.
