An electrical connector includes a dielectric housing with a plurality of filtering modules therein. Each filtering module has a housing and a magnetics assembly including transformer cores with wires wrapped therearound. An array of pins extend from the module housing for connection to the wires. A plurality of tails extend from the module housing for interconnection to a circuit board upon which the connector may be mounted. An interconnection is provided between the pins and tails that may include filtering or other signal modifying circuitry. A circuit member having an enhanced layout is also provided for use in or upon which the connector may be mounted.

Circuit member with enhanced performance

An electrical connector includes a dielectric housing with a plurality of filtering modules therein. Each filtering module has a housing and a magnetics assembly including transformer cores with wires wrapped therearound. An array of pins extend from the module housing for connection to the wires. A plurality of tails extend from the module housing for interconnection to a circuit board upon which the connector may be mounted. An interconnection is provided between the pins and tails that may include filtering or other signal modifying circuitry.

Modular jack with enhanced port isolation

An electrical connector includes an insulator body, a number of terminals arranged on the insulator body, and a shell surrounding the insulator body. The insulator body comprises a main body and a mating portion extending forward from the main body, the front end of the mating portion has a mating aperture, and the top and bottom sides of the mating aperture have a number of terminal grooves. Each terminal includes an elastic portion, a contact portion extending from the elastic portion, and an abutting portion located at the end of the contact portion. The terminals can be configured as to become gradually thinner toward the abutting portion.

Electrical connector

A connector includes a shield that supports a housing. The housing includes a tongue that extends in a mating region defined by the shield. The tongue includes grooves (which may be on both sides of the shield) that support a plurality of terminals. The grooves each include a retention feature that secures the terminal in the groove while allowing a mating terminal to engage the terminals in the grooves without first engage the tongue.

Connector with terminal retention

A board-mountable connector is provided. The connector includes a shield and an insulative housing with a tongue. Terminals are supported by the housing in two rows and the rows extend from a mating interface to a board mounting interface. The terminals may be mounted to the board via surface mount technology in two rows that are at about 0.4 mm pitch. The two rows of terminals are configured in a signal, signal, ground triangular configuration so as to provide a triangular terminal arrangement that extends from the mating interface to the mounting interface.

Method of mounting a connector

Impedance controlled electrical connector

An electrical signal transmission system includes a plurality of elongated conductors extending in a generally parallel array. The conductors have input ends at one end of the array and output ends at an opposite end of the array. Each conductor includes an elongated intermediate section and transition sections at opposite ends of the intermediate section joining the intermediate section to the input and output ends of the conductor. The array of conductors define two outside pairs of conductors and at least one inside pair of conductors. The elongated intermediate sections of the conductors in the inside pair thereof being spaced apart wider than the elongated intermediate sections of the conductors in each outside pair thereof.

Electrical signal transmission system

A replaceable module is provided for attachment to a standard fiber optic connector and an opto-electronic device on a printed circuit board. The module is mounted between the internal assembly and the external assembly of a fiber optic connector. The module is easily replaceable without requiring access to the interior side of the mounting panel and without requiring disconnection of the internal assembly from the opto-electronic device on the printed circuit board. Use of the replaceable module when connecting to an external device results in reduced wear on the internal assembly, thereby enabling an increase in the number of mating cycles that the internal assembly is able to perform.

Replaceable fiber optic interface module

An electrical connector is provided for mounting in an opening in a panel which has an elongated channel having overhanging lips along opposite sides thereof defining a narrowed mouth running longitudinally of the channel. The opening communicates through the channel. A connector housing is insertable into the opening and into the channel in an insertion direction. The housing is rotatable within the opening. At least one locking projection extends outwardly of the housing generally perpendicular to the insertion direction. The locking projection is sized for passing through the narrowed mouth defined by the overhanging lips of the channel and for locking engagement behind one of the lips in response to rotation of the housing within the opening. A latch projection is disposed on the outside of the housing and is latchingly engageable in the narrowed mouth of the channel automatically in response to the rotation of the housing within the opening.

Panel mounted electrical connector

An electrical connector assembly includes a pair of modular subassemblies each having an outer housing with a mating face defining a mating portion for mating with a complementary connector in a mating direction. The outer housing also has a side face with a cavity. A terminal module includes a dielectric inner housing positioned in the cavity. A plurality of terminals are mounted on the inner housing, with contact portions at the mating portion for engaging appropriate contacts of the complementary mating connector. Therefore, the outer housings of the modular subassemblies can be joined at the side faces thereof to conceal the terminal modules therewithin.

Electrical connector assembly

A shielded electrical connector is provided for mounting at least partially in a cut-out portion of a printed circuit board. The connector includes a dielectric housing having an opening through a bottom wall thereof coincident with the cut-out portion of the printed circuit board. The housing has a plug-insertion cavity with an opening at a front mating face thereof for receiving a complementary mating plug connector. A latch projection extends from the housing near the opening in the bottom wall thereof. A metal shield is mounted about the housing and has a front plate portion juxtaposed over the front mating face of the housing and having a plug-insertion opening aligned with the front opening of the housing. The shield includes a bottom plate portion aligned with the opening in the bottom wall of the housing and including a latch aperture for embracing the latch projection of the housing.
