A vehicle seat includes a seat frame supporting a base cushion and an extendable cushion that moves relative to the base cushion. Textile material encloses the cushion assembly and includes a bridging segment that spans a space between the base cushion and the extendable cushion. A tensioner includes a roller that receives the segment of textile material wrapped around the roller. The roller rotates on a shaft relative to the seat frame about an axis of rotation. A return spring is connected to the roller and the shaft to exert a tensioning force on the segment of textile material. The return spring biases the segment of textile material to be rolled around the roller when retracting. The return spring resists extending and holds the segment of textile material in tension when the segment of textile material is extended.

Seat trim tensioner

A seat assembly, comprising a seat back comprising: a cushion; a back panel assembly, including: a substrate panel; an outer panel coupled to the substrate panel via a plurality of protrusions of at least one of the outer panel or the substrate panel; a retainer coupled to the substrate panel and the outer panel; a trim cover engaged with the back panel assembly and covering at least a portion of the cushion; and an airbag disposed at least partially between the outer panel and the trim cover; wherein the retainer is configured to limit movement of the outer panel during deployment of the airbag.

Seat assembly

A vehicle seat includes a seat bottom, a seat back and a floor latch associated with the seat bottom. The seat further includes a recliner arrangement including a recliner bracket connected to the seat bottom, a back side bracket connected to the seat back, and a recliner connected to the recliner bracket and the back side bracket and configured to allow the seat back to pivot with respect to the seat bottom. In addition, the seat includes a fold and tumble mechanism having an actuating member pivotally connected directly to the back side bracket, and a rocker member pivotally connected to the recliner bracket and connected to a latch cable associated with the floor latch. The actuating member is engageable with the rocker member when the seat back is pivoted forwardly to cause the rocker member to pivot and pull on the latch cable, which releases the floor latch so that the seat bottom may pivot upwardly.

Fold and tumble mechanism for a vehicle seat

An armrest mounted in a seat assembly includes an armrest mounting assembly. The mounting assembly supports the armrest and is adapted to provide rotation of the armrest between a stowed and use position. The mounting assembly includes a bracket supporting a mounting plate having a stop rod rotation channel, a pivot rod installation aperture, a retention tab, and a pivot cradle. The pivot rod has an end portion shaped to engage the mounting plate. The armrest mounting assembly provides an efficient securing mechanism for a pivoting armrest.

Vehicle armrest mounting assembly and installation method

A vehicle seat includes a seat bottom, a seat back and a floor latch associated with the seat bottom. The seat further includes a recliner arrangement including a recliner bracket connected to the seat bottom, a back side bracket connected to the seat back, and a recliner connected to the recliner bracket and the back side bracket and configured to allow the seat back to pivot. The seat also includes a fold and tumble mechanism having a support bracket fixedly connected to the back side bracket, an actuating member pivotally connected to the support bracket, and a rocker member pivotally connected to the recliner bracket and connected to a latch cable associated with the floor latch. The actuating member is engageable with the rocker member when the seat back is pivoted forwardly to cause the rocker member to pivot and pull on the latch cable, which releases the floor latch.

A seat system for a vehicle and method of manufacturing the same including a seat foam pad having a headrest portion and a backrest portion. A structural support member is included that is formed of a foam material that is at least partially enclosed by the headrest portion and the backrest portion. The seat system also includes a seat frame having the seat foam pad and the structural support member adjacent thereto, wherein the seat foam pad and the structural support member enable the seat system to meet a predetermined structural requirement.

Vehicle seat system

A vehicle seat assembly including a seat backrest, a seat bottom, and a seat frame having a front member and a rear member that operatively supports the seat bottom. A seat backrest rotating assembly allows the seat backrest to move from an upright position to a folded position. The seat frame has a seat rotation mechanism to allow the seat frame to be rotatively lifted upward and move the seat frame to a tumbled position. A first latching mechanism latches and retains the seat backrest in the upright position. A second latching mechanism latches and retains the seat bottom to the vehicle floor. A release assembly has a motor and a cable assembly that is operatively connected to the first latching assembly. The motor is adapted to be remotely actuated to cause the first latching assembly to be operatively released by the cable assembly.

Power assist fold and tumble vehicle seat

A headrest assembly in combination with a vehicle seat assembly, the combination including a vehicle seat assembly having a seat bottom and a seat back assembly connected to the seat bottom. The combination also includes a headrest assembly connected to the seat back assembly. The headrest assembly has a head receiving portion that is configured for movement between a first position and a second position with respect to the seat back assembly. The seat back assembly obstructs downward adjustment of the headrest assembly below a predetermined height when the head receiving portion is in the first position. The headrest assembly can be downwardly adjustable below the predetermined height when the head receiving portion is in the second position.

Dual release headrest

A stowable seat assembly is provided for use with a vehicle having a floor and a recess formed therein. The assembly includes a seat and a pivot tube adapted to be secured to the vehicle floor, with the seat being operatively pivotal about the pivot tube between a first, collapsed position and a second, stowed position with the seat being at least partially stowed within the vehicle recess. The seat passes through a third, upright position intermediate the first and second positions as the seat is pivoted between the first and second positions. The assembly further includes a torsion rod mounted on the pivot tube and free to twist, with the torsion rod being operatively coupled to the seat during pivoting of the seat toward and away from the third, upright position. The torsion rod provides a first biasing torque for assisting pivotal movement of the seat from the stowed position toward the upright position and a second biasing torque for assisting pivotal movement of the seat from the collapsed position toward the upright position.

Vehicle seat assembly

A seat assembly for use with a vehicle having a vehicle body includes a seat bottom that is configured to be pivotably mounted to the vehicle body, a seat back pivotally connected to the seat bottom, a seat back latch associated with the seat back for inhibiting movement of the seat back with respect to the seat bottom, and an automatic stow arrangement for moving the seat bottom and seat back from a use position to a stowed position. The stow arrangement is associated with the seat back latch and is configured to release the seat back latch to allow the seat back to pivot in a first direction toward the seat bottom. The stow arrangement is further configured to pivot the seat bottom and seat back in a second direction opposite the first direction to the stowed position.
